Apologies again for members seeing adverts every few days The forum has got so busy that the 50,000 page view credits are now lasting only 7 days or less - & that's not counting the guest views! I don't instantly apply credits as I try to do all forum updates when they run out, so I don't use any paid for views while doing so.

Chrissie, i never get any pop up adverts on here! This is the first time I've seen this thread and I didn't realise that it was costing you to run this forum, I thought it was free i'm sure we could all contribute a little if it would help?

The ads. don't bother me Chrissie. If they do bother anyone, then they can download Adblock Plus for free. I'm sure everyone would agree that no one need pay for the forum.

$7 for 50,000 views? That's a lot though it is simpler to setup and run the forum..
I have a unlimited hosting package and I pay about half that a month and a co.uk domain costs about £3.00 a year..If you ever want to use it or want your own hosting package PM me. You can have your own webpage, ad free forums, wiki, personal pages etc.
I dunno if Proboards will give you the SQL forum backups though..

Karma they aren't pop up adverts as such, they appear as banner adverts at the very top & bottom of every page. Plus, the most annoying ones, are next to any embedded videos. Thanks Macca but it's impossible to transfer content from a proboard to anywhere else

I don't worry about the advertisements either, Chrissie. I don't use an adblocker program, because they don't bother me.
So, it doesn't matter to me whether there are ads or not on AAE-C.

Oh, the ads on the banners don't bother me at all, easy to ignore The ones on hotmail are much worse, interfere with loading time!

Thanks Sandra & Jerry I'll use up the few ad free credits we have left then have a think about it One of the problems is that we will be very prone to adverts from free e-cig trials & other bad e-cig suppliers

That means the credits won't go far, at all. May I be so bold as to offer two options, either a supporting member status, or we live with the ads. It's not fair for you to have to pay, or for the same members to pay over and over again.

Nicky at the bottom of the page, you will see "Click Here to Make This Board Ad-Free". Then follow the instructions.

I'm guessing you have done it right Nicky, but all I get is notification that credits have been bought, but not who bought them.
Thank you so much #KissBlowSmiley1#
Jerry although I could easily put members into a separate "supporting Members" group, I couldn't make it that the ad free would be for them only. It would also be very difficult to collect payment & then pay Proboards. The only way to pay for ad free credits is via google check out.

I know that, Chrissie. My thinking was that a "Supporting Member" title, might encourage others to contribute.
People could buy the credits and then notify you that they have done so and get the title for X amount of time. I know that there are some bugs to be worked out with this idea, but it's something to think about.
