I tend to just wiggle the legs off on mine. As long as the screws are tight enough, it seems to work. The jury's still out on the Orchid for me. It's a MUCH airier draw than the KF's chykensa. Also, sub ohm at 23 watts means I can't give it a good test for very long until my 6mg has steeped. 12mg is killing me in this!

Forgot to add, i don't use any cutter for removing the tails of the wire, i just wiggle them round and round (washing machine method) until they snap (pretty much two seconds) just like all other atties i build. Me too

Same as the kayfuns it's the design that stops them flooding Tom, the pressure outside the tank and in the coil area is greater than in the tank where the liquid is. also the juice has to travel uphill so to speak to reach the wick. Yes but the air hole for the kayfuns isn't on the juice deck! obviously the coil is over both but I still thought this could be a flooder if not wicked right. Ah good point and maybe that's why it's preferable to partially poke your wick in the channels

Great posts here, wish I had read these before setting up my V3 yesterday afternoon.
Looks like I'm going to have to get the V4 as these coils just seem to drink the juice and had to refill twice. Loving the flavour though like a cross between my magma and my kayfun.
Before I purchase the V4, I need some advice please on how to fill without leaks. Loosing about 7 drops out the air holes. Juice is 50/50. I'm filling with a thin top bottle about 2.5 ml. Do I need to use a syringe or needle top bottles? Should there be a o-ring on the fill screw?

You could be my double aliscampbell LOL I received a Magma and Orchid v4 on Friday, and am a longstanding fan of Kayfuns. The Orchid is exactly as you say, a cross between a Russian and the Magma, but yes it is a thirsty little monster - got through more than half a tank in less than a day, and that was with changing tanks a few times too! I also lost a dribble out of an air hole, but I tend to top fill, don't know if that makes a difference.

The spare pmma centres for the Kayfun fit the orchid v3 aliscampbell. I think the chimney blocks the fill port a bit on some, but the Kayfun parts have a bit more space as they are one piece, so it's easier to fill. I also have those flush cutters, but find them fiddly to use so resort to toenail clippers most of the time. As for the draw on the orchid, I block the airholes a bit on mine to sightly tighten the flow.

I've taken the flush cutters out of my FT basket as I found a pair of nail scissors in a male grooming set that will do the trick
