I have a pair of nail scissors from Superdrug which came in a handy clear plastic ziplok pouch, I keep that in my travel case (!) along with a couple of pairs of tweezers and a small Allen key. They are used for trimming wicks and snipping those hard to get at wire tails. If they blunt in time then I simply buy another pair - £3.50!!

Got one today, not that impressed with the lack of flavour maybe it's the big chamber and/or maybe my coils need lowering (they are the height of the screw holes). Coiling and wicking was OK the first time with 9 wraps of 0.32 mm 28 AWG kanthal on a 2.2 mm former and Rayon wick, I will try Jap cotton next. I would really benefit from a two piece and lower chimney and raised air inlets. It handles lots of power and does give plenty of vapour.

I found it was a decent atty that kept up with some serious high wattage, wicking wise. I was surprised with how it didn't leak. The airflow holes are right on the juice deck so you have to make sure you do not use too little cotton/wicking material. I think this is a great tank atty for a dripper type of guy/gal. For me it was a little too airy and a step down in flavour when compared with something like the kayfun. (although i am biased i pretty much prefer the kayfun to everything)

Twisted 0.27 mm 0.7 ? Kanthal with the coils a bit closer to the inlets and the connections has improved the flavour no end, now it has some.

Coils close as poss to the inlets, very little cotton and just rested on top of the chambers but not blocking them = Great Vape

Hmm, I obviously have some experimentation to do too. I find it quite flavoursome, but a very airy draw. DLI is the way to go (see, I'm still learning from you Super-Shiny!). I'm still on my first build and juice (Jack the Ripple, BTW!), but will have a crack at rebuilding again at the weekend time permitting!

I try to guestimate where to place the coils so the air will flow evenly over them a couple of mil above the air holes this time as quit a wide coil I didn't want to be too close and just get air to the centre. Jap cotton was easier to use than Rayon and stay put, just enough room to bend at a right angle with the ends on the deck, IE there is just the width of the wick space each side of the coil. Tiny amount of wick, both used less than a Kayfun would use. It doesn't feel too airy now with the extra vapour and flavour from large twisted coils, I made them as big as I felt it could fit, IIRC 11 wraps on a 2.2 mm former so at least 6 mm wide.

BTW if anyone wants a cheap one fast I ordered at 5PM Friday and got it on Monday for £13.50 delivered from puffpalaceuk.com, the threads are a bit rough, but it works fine.

Really enjoyed the second tank and took a picture before refilling. Twisted 0.27 mm Kanthal 0.7 ? on 2.2 mm former with Japanese cotton wicks.

Just going to shoot this in here real quick. Not wanting to step on any toes or anything, but I have a way I build my Orchid. Seems to work well for me and get's great flavor and clouds. From personal experience and just general flopping around the inter webs I came upon this little coil build for my Orchid and it's what I have used now every time. It's 6 wraps of 24 AWG/0.511MM, 3MM coil size or largest of my micro screwdrivers. . Lol thanks to Vaping Bad I now know the MM sizing for my normal AWG standards here in the U.S. THANKS! I just make it as a normal 6 wrap coil then bend one leg out then down then back... if that makes sense lol. It works really well and it keeps the coils legs out of the way of your cotton for your juice channels. Also when building an Orchid you really need to keep the coil as close to the air hole as possible. Reason being is not for flavor or anything, but when the tails from your cotton fall to the sides it keeps juice from going into the air hole. It acts almost like a sponge barrier. If you build your coil to high it will allow juice to run past the cotton and into the air intake hole. I put no cotton what so ever in the juice channels. Just let the tails rest on the deck on either side of the coil. I would have put a picture of it on my Orchid, but I'm about half way through my tank and don't feel like dumping it lol. I'll pop one up as soon as it's emptied.

never feel like your stepping on toes Resnik, the more builds and methods the merrier! I like how you've 'pre-bent' the coils. Something I might add to how I do duals. Thanks

All info is helpful, what's the joint resistance Resnik, I think it may be too low for my DNA. My next go will probably be with nickel for the DNA40, but just loving my Kraken on that do may not be for a few days lol.

Looking at 0.3 ohms for this in dual coil, but that's on the RTA with cotton and juice in a full build. Bout got the tank empty. I'll be posting how I cut the cotton and wick it. Lol good thing about this setup is it chugs rather then sips juice.

This is where I got the ideas for the build. I do mine a little different now that I have built it 4 or 5 times. I make the bent leg more towards the back giving more room for cotton, but this was how I started. I also push my coil a little closer to the air intake hole as well. Never had this build leak yet. Before though.... It leaked like crazy, but I was trying to build bigger coils and setting them up higher. Orchid Coil Build

LOL sitting here trying to empty it. It sounds angry lol when you click that button.
To add I have drilled my first Orchid out. If you look at the base of the orchid on that link I posted you see a beveled edge where the intake hole drops down into the deck. I drilled that bevel out to the next size drill bit basically. It has a little better air flow now for Lower ohm builds. Gotta watch out with drilling an Orchid though cause you will run into the insulator if you go to much. Like I said the NEXT size drill bit then the original hole size.
