I don't have a link or details, but apparently Liberty Flights have sent emails to people how bought these saying the wiring near the batteries is dangerous and they are being recalled immediately. So if you have one stop using it, take the batteries out and contact your vendor.

Hello here's a copy of the email I recieved from Liberty Flights today as well I got a phone call to arrange pick up of the IPV3.
Dear CSayce ,
We are writing to urgently inform you that we have discovered a potential safety hazard involving the iPV 3 you have purchased recently. We have seen more than one example of the internal battery terminals getting hot which we believe in some of the products is causing the plastic casing that houses the chipset and wiring to melt. The melting is occurring next to the battery terminals (gold coloured parts that touch the end of the batteries) which we believe could represent a serious hazard if left unchecked. As such we are recalling this product from the market as it no longer meets with the high standard of safety we demand from all our products.
Please can you return the product to us immediately to avoid any potential problems and we will refund with the full cost of the product, including delivery both ways. Please find attached our returns procedure and form.
Ignoring this issue could result in damaging your device or worse yet cause personal injury.
We would like to apologise for any inconvenience that this recall may have caused. As well as the full refund of your product and delivery, an extra £15 store credit will also be added to your account on receipt of the item as a way of saying sorry.
We would like to reassure you that Liberty Flights is committed to safety and accountability for all of our products is of paramount importance to us.
Please reply to this email as soon as you get it to confirm receipt and let us know that you are sending back the item to us.
To raise any questions or concerns, please do give our support team a call on 0345 257 9008.

Tried to upload a picture but it's not working, One of my customers posted a picture, the gold contacts get hot and are melting the plastic about the battery.

Seems to be silicone inside the contacts and it's not actually melting. I think this might be a false scare.

seems to be devices coming out of china that fast that quality and safety is being disregarded to a certain extent. They can't keep giving the media, governing bodies ammunition to fire at us

Haven't got one but Liberty Flights should be commended on the way they've handled it instead of just putting their heads in the sand and hoping it blows over. And thanks for giving people the heads up peeps.

I think they jumped the guns to be honest, I read the statement. If the chip gets hot it'll shut down and the "melting" is just some kind of soft plastic to hold the contacts in,it's not melting at all. These weren't rushed out, We ordered these AGES ago and there was about 2-3 months of QC on these.

Is it just me or wasn't there safety concerns raised about the IVP2 at some point as well?
Although given the number of cloned Hana mods that have gone postal this is kind of thing is perhaps unsurprising.
A quick reminder that this hobby can be dangerous is you are not quite sure what you are buying and of course caveat emptor etc.

A big hats off to liberty flights for their commitment to their customers safety, and the generous gesture of £15 credit on top of cost and postage. Always feels good to see a vendor act in such a responsible way, and offering the free credit is, well, a credit to their customer service. Well done liberty flights. Great post VapingBad and many thnaks for the email giving further details csayce .
