I saw this on BBC Breakfast ( or whatever it's called ) at 06:00 this morning.
This is just another instance of the public being brainwashed by someone's PAID for agenda.

TBH if I wasn't a member of this forum I wouldn't have given a second thought to using any charger that fit and worked, so perhaps having a warning on the packaging is a good idea

Agree with karma, seems like a sensible and appropriate response.

On the positive side, if by putting advice/warning about charging we stop devices catching fire or venting then a line of histeria is removed from the likes of the Daily Fail.

It seems sensible to me. There's obviously a problem and as Karma said if your a 'non-forum' vaper your not as aware of the whole safety aspect.

Well now is the time to make industry standard chargers for certain types of connection , if need be lower the charging rate to accommodate smaller batteries.
That would alleviate the problem , so the nannies can point the finger elsewhere , and the Anti's then can't blame the E-cigs , even though it was the E-cigs fault in the first place.

Agree in principle, but not if it just singles out ecigs. Better instructions for all chargers and electrical appliances should be mandatory. If it wasn't for the 'experts' on here I wouldn't have a clue. Makes more sense than straight bananas or cucumbers.

Fire risk warnings...? Yes. Makes sense. 7,500,000 e-cigs sold in the UK (including 3,000,000 E-Shites and 10 Motivations) and a huge and frankly unacceptable 62 have done some very bad and awfully naughty exploding stuff. Tut, Tut. Of course... smoking is much safer. Smoking only costs £610,000,000 per year in fire related incidents. Just the 610 MILLION POUNDS. Take up smoking. You know you want to.

No-one wants to single out E-cigs.What I was thinking was along the lines of , and an example would be a Micro USB , should be rated at x charging rate and that's what all Micro USB chargers should be for whatever purpose , whether it be a phone , MP3 player or E-cig.Then do the same with all chargers where there seems to be a risk of fire because of the wrong charger has been used. We all know here ( because we use the forum and there are very helpful and knowledgeable people here ) that using the correct charger is a must , but not all vapers do as someone has already mentioned. We also all know here that E-cigs , even percentage wise aren't the major culprit as far as fires go, it's phone chargers , so it's about time that all got sorted to an industry standard. Andy But that would mean some items would take far longer to charge than necessary. Surely labelling is the best way forward rather than dumbing everything down to idiot level
