Quote from DNA40 data sheet I have just read. "Because wattage, not temperature controls vapor volume, large vapor volumes can be produced without unnecessarily high temperatures" This is maybe where I'm fighting a losing battle in my head with this device, the quote above reads wrong to me; Volume of juice and temperature applied = vapor volume, watts is just the energy used. Think Heinz chicken soup...! a big pan, a small pan and gas....what am I missing here? @letsavit I think the answer is that when your pan (any size) of soup reaches boiling point it can't get any hotter, but if you apply more power it will vapourise quicker.

Also if you spread that heat over a larger area of wick (larger coil) rather than super heating a smaller area...

To my way of thinking, they are saying that the critical temperature is the boiling point of the liquid and there is little or no gain inputting any more power into the coil, it`s wasted energy.

Before temp control I guess it was commonly thought that increased power equated to more vapour and more flavour. They are making a point of differentiating the two so we can understand why we need their product Keep thinking @letsavit as robbby said that's how we all pick things up.

Will do mate, im typing as I'm thinking, I reckon you can go back and few pages and seen i have read something or done something and changed my mind again.....my jobs funny really, a draughtman, I am an expert at nothing other than getting other experts stuff to fit and work together, have to know a little bit about everything. Some days I think vaping gear is simple but really clever then I go into work and walk around a plant room and see how much control the experts have over heating liquids and air and think wow this stuff I'm vaping on is in the stone age..... anyway tis is a good thread and have picked up a few things today, going to try a bigger soup pan next..! Ie more wraps....

so you can get the same vaper production from say for exaple a .18 nickle build at 4 watts with the temp set to 500 and the same build at 40 watts with the temp down at 400

I chase flavour and in my Kayfun and Squape I build coils to work best at 10 – 15w. If I were chasing clouds I’d be building coils that work best at much higher power, (and fitting them in an appropriate atty). Either way the TC keeps the juice at the optimum temp, which could be the same for both of the coils,to get the best flavour from them. However the cloud chasing coil would be capable of having way more power pumped into it therefore would produce more vapour. So you have to build a coil to satisfy what you want from it, in your example one coil couldn't be expected to work at 4w and 40w.

It's been mentioned before but as i mentioned different builds it's a good idea to check out the heat flux of a build on steam engine. I aim for about 220-230mW/mm2 here are two examples. My standard one is 30AWG about 0.14ohms optimised for 13w = 223mW/mm2 And a twisted 30AWG about 0.11ohms optimised for 40w = 219mW/mm2 The first one has a surface area of 58mm2 and the second 182mm2

So for more vapour more volume of juice needs to be heated?
Larger flow rate (juice channels) larger area to heat it (coil) to heat more juice quickly you will require more energy (in this case watts)
Not chicken soup today, gas central heating....! You have water (juice) to be heated to a set temp, controlled by a stat (DNA40) gas (watts) is applied at a heat exchanger (coil)
Move to a bigger house your have more juice to heat, more pipe work, larger boiler/heat exchanger and your gas bill will go up...!

Ill clean everything later but for now both flask and shark are constantly reading higher and by a large percentage. Pre made coils or my kayfuns....
Vapourshark sold me a few burnt hits this morning....
