So for more vapour more volume of juice needs to be heated? Larger flow rate (juice channels) larger area to heat it (coil) to heat more juice quickly you will require more energy (in this case watts) Not chicken soup today, gas central heating....! You have water (juice) to be heated to a set temp, controlled by a stat (DNA40) gas (watts) is applied at a heat exchanger (coil) Move to a bigger house your have more juice to heat, more pipe work, larger boiler/heat exchanger and your gas bill will go up...! Yes a cloud chasing coil is a larger heat exchanger so requires more power (watts) The DNA40 is certainly more expensive to run with regard to juice consumption.

still can't read ohms for shit...... Not very user friendly is it..... Don't like that big difference 0.18 to 0.29 that worse than the Orgenny clone on a bad day, I take it you have given all your contacts a good clean with IPA or meths, blakey I assume your's are accurate as you didn't mention it. I've used 0.3ohm pre-made coils and both registered 0.35 when first fitted but fine tuned down to 0.32 with use. Edit: Why produce a 0.18 and a 0.2ohm coil ???

Mine are fine, a cold attie will read the same on all devices. I make sure that everything is clean and tight then I just vape. Glad the screen is on the bottom tbh, stops me from becoming fixated with it. Set and forget now

Just found some IPA in the shed I'll give that a go or hopefully it's just this coil...

I'm rediscovering the taste in some of my juices, running around 15W with a 0.13 ohm coil. The clouds are there with lung inhaling, and at that wattage it's not so hot that it burrrnnnns. Lovely stuff.

Thank you guys
Yea connection problem, pulled the postive pin down on the atty, now reading .2 on the flask screwed down tight down. .22 on the shark...close enough for the DNA to do its job now....gave them a clean with IPA as well.
This being so far out has me thinking I need to lower my Kayfun postive screws.

Good on yer @letsavit Just done a 1.3ohm twisted 30gauge and that was drifting in and out of TC at the start, plus I was getting all sorts of resistance readings. Although the post screw were tight they still needed another slight tweek to fix it. Twisted coils do seem to be more sensitive to connection issues but are well worth it IMO. I built this one to try higher wattage, it's holding 380f at 30w and the flavour is intense, tongue coating rich and very smooth. By far the best vape I've had to date. I think i may have to join the club and build myself one of these

"tongue coating" for me that means a tight draw and thin drip tip, I like to feel the vapor hit my tongue and the reason I can't get on with airy atties I think. Iv gone the other way today, to get this mega running at 12watts without temp control getting in my way too much I'm up to 450f....nice atty and good enough for my lazy days as long as I hang around 12watts which I cant help but think is going creep up with time...! Thats an efficient atty running at those figures, what atty is it? Edit,...or has the twisted really made the difference?

Think of a session beer, slides down well and satisfies a thirst, it does the job but..... Now pour yourself a big IPA that fills your mouth with the taste of hops and malt. Or the way a double shot of espresso compares to a instant one. That sort of what I mean by tongue coating. I've read others describe it as lush.
It's the Kayfun V4 @letsavit and I'm still waiting for the S-kit to open it up some more, as it is it's not really that airy as standard. You must at least try opening up your atties, it was alien to me at first, I smoked for 45 odd years mouth to lung but it only took a few days to change.
I normally use 30 gauge singly for a 10 -15w coil, but thought I'd try higher power. As I only have the 30 gauge twisting was my only option. I think twisted coils have a greater surface area so I reckon they do make a difference.
I'm making one for the Squape so will put some pics up latter.

Top tip! Sounds daft, but it bloody works. When your dna40 starts firing weakly, take the atty off, give the connector a wipe on a cloth, and put it back on. Just gone from weaksauce to cloudz doing that right now.

Just received mine yesterday. Set up at 450 and 20 watts. Nice taste using a big nauti with 0.3 temp coils. Biggest airhole and I'm finding temp cutting in after a few seconds but restricts to about 15 watts if I continue lung inhale.
Does that sound about right ?
I'm thinking air flow restriction with the nauti is the limiting factor.
I'll need to set up an orchid but not sure what coils to do yet as they have much greater airflow capacity. Have some Ni from stealthvape 0.2, 0.32 and 0.4. Any recommendations ? Looking to go to 20-25 watts.

Greg that does sound a bit limited, maybe its the airflow or could be wicking, maybe or a bigger coil with thinner wire may help it worked for me on the Orchid when I had that problem. The only Orchid build I liked was this, you maybe able to use the 0.2 mm.

Building a coil to a certain heat flux / wattage (see results box in steam engine) is also key IMO eg. I built a 30gauge 013ohm coil, 6 wraps 3mm dia and 12w = 222mW/mm2 as around 220mW/mm2 is my preference, see how the heat flux changes from cool blue to hot red as you adjust the wattage. The twisted coil below has a heat flux of 223mW/mm2 at 37w. Could be that your coil may perform better at a lower wattage, I'd try 410f at 12-15c and see how that is. Not sure what to recommend but if you use the steam engine as mentioned it will help Vaping on this 2 x 30 Gauge wires twisted at the moment, has a pitch of 0.5mm, came out at 0.13ohms but fine tuned down with use to 0.11ohms. 380f at 35w is the most flavoursome vape yet

Yes great pics @scooby and thanks for the pointers and VapingBad bad too but but ......... Any advice on the nauti limits, I can't do much about the wicking on that as its a bought coil head. If what I'm getting is limited what can I change. I'll move onto the orchid but just wondering if the nauti is performing as it should or if I'm missing something.
