Late to the show, but rice pudding? Mmmmmmmm!! A little nutmeg to top it off? We all love vaping childhood memories. If this thread comes to fruition I'll be watching

The nic base is PG the one , and 50-50% the second , though i've used it with concentrate and it's fine. I bought another base to verify that , so it's not the problem. The same with VG i bought two different bases to minimize the risk of stacking to a bad quality batch. The recipe is calculated via Ejuice me Up. For Apple flavor base: 50-50% pg/vg here , Nicotine strength 20mg , target 6 mg. Flavor 3% as the production company says.
Nicotine base 9 ml pg/vg (30%) PG 9.6 ml (32%) VG 10.5 ml (35%) Flavor 0.9 ml (3%) All the amounts are measured with an electronic scale i've found in offer recently. The other recipes are about the same , flavors mixed from 2% for the strongest and 4% for weakest. Whose range of flavourings are you using miltiades? As that's a really low percentage and could well be insufficient to cover the underlying tastes in your other ingredients. Keeping in mind many of us mix at between 15-20% flavour, if not stronger. Any of these ratio guides or manufacturers recommendations for concentrates are just that, a guide and don't take into account our individual tastes or taste buds. I've bought so say extra, extra strong concentrates in the past, where the suggested percentage has been under 5%, which has been completely useless for my tastes and I've ended up using 15% to get any real flavour coming through.

Good Morning. i'm using apple from FA , and the other flavors are from a company called AtmosLab (local Greek flavors producer). The percentages i'm using are from the producer(in case of Atmos) and a bit more , for example 2% i've made 3% in a test to check and FA is 3% and 4% i'm using. In general the aroma of the concentrates are there along with the taste , though the problem is the chemical aftertaste that ruins everything. I tend to agree with yours and Lairey's recommendation for more steeping and also i will try to create a recipe with higher percentage but i doubt that this nasty chemical smell and taste will disappear only by adding more % to the mixture. Ripshod , you will have to wait a bit as you see here we are at the A right now , to reach Omega we have a long way to travel I would be happy to share a recipe i will like for myself first and i tend to be very picky lately after trying some liquids from Grizwald56

Most fa concentrates need a minimum of 10% often more. Also I noticed with the fa spiced apple I made ages back at first very chemical taste after a month steep very nice. Do a batch at higher % and leave till january. I always steep lid on due to having kids and animals in house.

Just a quick thought. Are these % recommendations for food use? Adding these flavours to food you need an awful lot less than if you use in e-liquid
It may be worth making a small trial of one with 10% flavour.
I think you need more time steeping. I would give it at least a week and probably 2

I guess with lid open steeping is faster rughead121 or it doesn't make any difference?

Mostly they steep better and faster with the lid off. They will still steep with the lid on and just to confuse you some (Thankfully not many) can be ruined if you leave the lid off.
As for AtmosLab flavours. You have to realise that all E-liquid flavours are basically food flavours. Sometimes a supplier will give a usage guide based on what their wholesale supplier will say and that will be based on food use.
Try looking around the web for other recipes that use the same flavours you have and see what others use and what they are saying. That should give you a good idea of where to start

rughead121 and lairey , apple mix already far better after one night with the lid open. The chemical taste is off... i will let it for 2-3 days more and check daily to see if the flavor will smooth further. I'm expecting in the next couple of days Malted Milk and Sweet Rice bought from CV9 for the rice pudding to start experimenting there as well. Many thanks

Hi there.
apple juice needed around 6 days. I've overdone it with the open lid as it lost some of the strength though the chemical taste disappear and the whole result was a very smooth vape. I did enjoyed it! Many thanks for the advice.
Concerning now the traditional rice pudding recipe I've decided not to mix everything together. As one friend that is chef locally and we talked a lot of time concerning my test his advice was to try perfecting the flavors separately and then go into mixing. This is his method when he creates a new menu and wishes to try something new.
The above seems very logical to me as well as the ingredients on the pudding are all very very strong and i doubt mixing them all together will bring a result.
So i've started with 3 basic ingredients seperately into a 60vg / 40pg base with 9mg nic in order to check the intensity of the different ingredients.
My three basic ingredients are:
1. DKS Sweet rice at 8% but as this would be the dominant base I've added 1% of Cooling agent to the mix in order to add the chilly sensation i wish to achieve 2. CV9 Malted Milk at 4% , lowered the % here as Perpetua well said that milk is very intense. I will check the result and even dilute it more if very intense 3. DKS Vanilla at 8% , I've noticed from the smell of the liquid that I've already created something very intense , waiting for the result and maybe i will smooth it a bit.
I will let both three to breath/steep for 1-2 days and then i will start mixing them together.
I'll be back with info on results.
Kind regards M
