The consensus of informed thinking which I've no reason to doubt is that it will keep indefinitely if stored in the freezer decanted into glass bottles, amber preferably *-SARIN-*. I'm using Nic Base which is over 3 years old which has been stored in this way, with no hint whatsoever of any degradation Perpetua, if you can save a small amount of your oldest frozen nic base and do a small test mix say every 6months that would be great. As much as I value sarins knowledge first hand experience is great too.

Right, thank you everyone who's added thier experience and knowledge to this thread, has helped me and will help others. Tonight I have frozen my nic base and used the advice given. I first washed my hands then put each 300ml bottle in the microwave for 1 min. I then filled each bottle and left a small gap to let the air bubbles rise to the top, I then topped to the brim untill a little overflowed and put the cap on as tightly as I could. I checked each bottle for air by tilting slighty to see if any air bubbles appeared. One out of 15 bottles showed an air bubble so I topped up again. Armageddon covered for a few years at least....!

That's been in the freezer for some 3.5 years - I'll save a small bottle from that.

Delighted you've found no difference.

The 75mg Nic Base that I decanted into 100ml amber glass jars is now 2 years old and that is what I am using at the moment. It was not filled "right to the brim" as that was not mentioned back when I bottled it. It may well have deteriorated to now being 0mg, but I think I would have noticed that as I can tell if I even drop 2mg with my e-juice. So I reckon that, for me, there is absolutely no difference and no deterioration whether there is air in the jar or not.

@letsavit one tip I would add it to put a label on the bottles with the date, PG or VG and % nic so when you restock you use the old stuff first, I use white insulating tape and a thin marker. And anyone who ever has kids needs to include a warning.

For me personally I have only ever used 72mg PG so I input this into the calculator without even thinking now, and will do for next couple of years...! so next batch can have different colour tape to help break habit if the need be. And I will repeat for those with children; A poison warning with a child proof cap....!

When I started vaping I found it much easier just to get rid of the children. I've saved a fortune not having to buy special bottles or expensive labels.

@letsavit A couple of link for you: VG StoragePG StorageBoth chemicals are hygroscopic meaning that they attract water molecules. The bottles need to have good caps and it would be an idea to tape thema s well before storing them in a cool dry place.

My whisky bottles aren't child proof. Where I keep them is. Out of reach. Strangely enough, I don't feel the need to drink as much now they've left home.

DO NOT fill your bottles to the brim. When the PG cools it contracts creating a vacuum in the bottle. Over time in the freezer air can leech through the cap and via the seal to fill the vacuum. Then when the bottle warms up, be it for you to use or a freezer failure, the PG expands again and now there is air in the bottle it gets compressed so much the glass bottle will burst. Therefore always leave an air gap at top of liquid by just filling up to the bottom of the neck. Chances are short term you will not have a problem, or long term if you loosen the top as it warms up again (defrosts) but if you forget or get freezer failure you have a high risk of burst bottles. Thought I better say something @letsavit.

If the caps have let the air in then will they not let it out? Ie the cap being the vent before the bottle? Don't understand chemistry but work with pressure, large boilers, cylinders etc. with safety valves, burst valves (the cap) ie designed go before taking out the equipment (the bottle) under failure. Edit. Thinking a little more this process is going to happen regardless, even with a gap its going to pull air which will need to be released when warmed back to room temperature.
