I've been using my KFL's and Russians, both originals and clones for a fairly long time now. However, I have always filled them using the bottom fill screw, which has always worked as it should. In the interests of preserving the threads on mods as long as possible I know that some people top fill. Basically I'm interested in what methods you use and do they work OK? I have seen various videos, but they are a bit contradictory.

You can get a replacement top cap that allows you to top fill without having to disassemble the tank , not sure where from, but maybe someone can point you in the right direction , hope this helps

To be fair, I've done both. And for the amount of fannying about, top fill isn't worth it.

Fannying about doesn't bother me at all, you should have seen some of the faffing from earlier kit I want to try it, if it doesn't work for me then I shan't bother again. That is why I am asking for members methods.

Roger , I think I may have a top fill cap knocking about somewhere, if I can find it then you're welcome to it as I've never used it. Will update the thread later once I finish work and get a chance to have a look in the house .

Never had a problem top filling my russian/ kayfun clone. The method I use is 1 Take top off 2 Put finger over air hole and fill it to just under top level glass line. 3 Put top back on and get it to bite/contact and turn but don't fully tighten it. 4 Turn atty upside down and remove finger over air hole 5 Tighten the top cap fully. 6 Good to go but first couple of vapes take small drags and if you need to make sure the air hole is clear, blow into air hole and watch the air come out of drip tip. Its not really necessary to do that but what the eck its fun.

Yep, always top fill as I can't be bothered to wait so long to fill using a needletip through the bottom fill hole - takes forever! Once the top cap thread is tightened with finger off the airhole, keep upside down and blow through the airhole with some tissue over the drip tip. Leaves a few drops of juice, but is then trouble free. I actually find that bottom filling gives me more leakage/gurgling problems than top filling, which is hassle-free!
