Hello all after reading the thread on MSE forum I've joined you as I have information overload and am really really confused. I've seen this offer posted by a member on here: I f you wanted an e-cig as a complete alternative to smoking, then you will need something bigger (more cigar sized) & one of the best deals at the moment is this one using discount code JAN15 -
freedomvape.co.uk/shop/article_10....2%26aid%3D10%26Now, I'm a bit confused as to what all the various bits are used for. i.e the atomisers etc. Can someone kindly please explain what each component is for. Imagine that you are trying to explain it to a small child! Sorry for being a bit dense but it is a bit overwhelming; when I've tried to quit smoking in the past I've just bunged a patch on my arm; easy peasy lemon squeezy! Thanks very much in advance.

Surprise! They haven't! The atomiser holds a heating coil that heats the liquid nicotine (juice) as you suck the liquid through the mouth piece for starters.

Hi elliebobs..I too joined in from the MSE thread recently.. A very helpful crowd of senior members here..Just to give you an idea: The front bit is the battery. The higher the Mah of the battery the more time it will supply power to heat the coil. The back bit is called a cartomizer/atomizer/atty/cart and there are numerous variations and thread sizes. It's a science on it's own right so plenty of reading helps.

Thanks so much for all those that have posted. I like the pictures;
In answer to the other questions; I'm on about 10 rollies a day and smoke Amber Leaf with a filter and have never so much as had a sniff of an E Cig.

Mac's picture is a bit outdated! Most e cigarettes don't look like cigarettes any more. They can be bought, but the batteries don't last long. The principles of how they work are the same though.

Thanks also for that link; that's my reading material for tomorrow night sorted. Hopefully by the end of next week I shall be well on my way to becoming a non (real) smoker. It's only taken 25 years or so!
