Welcome to the wonderful world of vaping, dmarks and tourmaline!
Loads of great advice already given but I'll say it again the Riva is a fantastic bit of kit to start you off on. Especially if you get the 1100mAh batteries - one of them would keep me going all day when I switched and I used to smoke 40+ a day.
I'm using an SD MkII as my main kit now but I still sneak back to my Riva - it's a trusted companion now and I don't think I'll ever give it up entirely.

Maybe a silly question but I can't seem to find an answer. When I get my Riva (hopefully tonight) how much of the juice do I put in a cartridge? I don't want to break it all on my first attempt!! Thank you x

Not a silly question at all. When your kit arrives if I remember correctly there will be a cartidge already attached to an atomiser. Take that off and you'll see inside it doesn't have any white filling in. Just put it to one side. There'll be a box marked atomized cartridges - take one of those out and take the little white plastic cap off - put that to one side. Take the white filler out of the cartridge (a pair of tweezers or the end of a bent paper clip is useful, so get one and put it in your vaping stash box - don't have a vaping stash box? don't worry, you soon will!!)
Then take your juice bottle and drip about 6 drops into the cartridge (remember you'll need to gently squeeze the bottle to get the juice to drip) then put the filler back in slowly until it is just below (about 1mm) the rim of the cartrdige. You then slowly drip a few more drops onto the filler in the cartridge - letting them soak in until the cartridge is full and the filler looks a bit like a slushy.
Screw the atomiser onto the battery (don't over tighten it), look in the end of the atomiser and you'll see a grey thing - that's the wick. Add a drop of juice to that, pop the cartridge into the end of the atomiser - make sure it's pushed all the way in and then you are good to go.

Dmarks, for cartridges, you need to put about 10 drops of juice in to make the white wadding squishy wet . It's also a good idea to blow through the atomiser to remove any primer it may have - blow from threaded end & hold a piece of tissue of the open end. Then add a couple of drops of juice into the atomiser.

Thanks for the replies - it all sounds quite complicated but sure will get used to it after a while! Will I know if I have overfilled/underfilled it - is it better to start slowly so I don't overfill it? Blimey, all these questions...sorry!

dmarks, don't worry it will make far more sense when you have the kit in front of you. Just take it one step at a time.
The batteries should have a factory charge on them so you can use one straight away but remember to put the other one on charge so it's ready to use when you need it.

Thanks to all for the lovely, warm welcome and great advice. I have just placed an order with Freedomvape. I went for the Riva 510 starter kit, Boge cartomisers (these were Standard?) Whistle drip tip plus some Golden Virginia, RY4 and some Caramel. I couldn't resist the Caramel after reading through the posts here. :-)
I will be reading through Tizerbelle's advice to dmarks on what to do when my goodies arrive. :-) :-)
Huge thank you again to everyone for your help.
