Probably best to put it away for tonight, I know if it was my I would be too stressed by now. Tomorrow check there is power to the board and if the screen is not on consider the possibility the screen is not working and see if you can fire an atty.

Todays update with a fresh pair of eyes. The board is working and fires an atty no problem, but still no screen. So i must have somehow done something to bugger it, prob too much heat somewhere.
Note to self. If you do another one, be more careful lol.

@windows if it is the screen that's goosed don't bin the 40, stealth sell a replacement screen for the DNA30 for £8.99 so there may be a replacement 40 screen in the future.

They look like the same screen, they are not hard to change. If you can get to where the ribbon cable joins the board with a large flat soldering iron tip it may be worth trying to remelt the solder. First put a paper clip or hook up wire through the small holes in the ribbon wire then just move ah hot iron with a blob of solder on the tip over the surface of the ribbon. But chances are the screen has snapped, it is easily done.

Thinking about it I wouldn't be surprised if a clone screen worked, they were for sale on Alibibi previously, assuming the 30 & 40 screens are the same. Looking at a broken 30 and a new 40 they both have "00240-MF1-" but the last caricature is covered and the have slightly different numbers on the back which are probably just revision numbers. Of course I can't be sure and it would be best to check with your vendor as they will get a quicker answer from Evolv than you will.

Well ive just ordered a replacement screen from stealthvape. Might not work but for 8.99 its worth a punt.

This is what the last person who did a screen from my how to said: "Just replaced the screen on my DNA30 and its now working like a charm. Actually wasnt that hard. The wire through the holes tip was very helpful :-)"

I'll give it a try VapingBad but im not convinced ive cracked the screen as i was ultra careful as i knew it and the ribbon would be fragile.
Ive ordered some solder removal wick so i can clean everything up on all my connections and start again.

Stealth mode: While locked, holding the fire and down buttons simultaneously for five seconds will switch to stealth mode. In this mode the display is off. It will still show error and lock messages. To switch back to normal display mode, hold down the fire and down buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds. This setting is stored to internal flash memory, and remains if power is removed.

Just done mine and screen is totally off. Finger crossed.....   

Also Press fire five times and screen light up between un/locked mode in stealth..ie won't come out of steath mode while unlocked...
