I wouldn't have an I phone if you gave me it ( well I would but only to sell on ) Give me a Samsung all day long!!! I like to be able to expand my Memory and I also don't like being told by Global Gangsters where I can download my music from!!! It's easy enough to transfer music from comp to iphone without itunes

I can see where you're coming from, I must have bought at least 3 songs from iTunes out of the thousands that are on my iTunes

I don't want to use I tunes, I want to drag and drop music from my laptop onto my Phone or download straight to my Phone without having to go through the Faffing about that Apple insist on!!! I wouldn't mind if they were something special, My two sons get the latest I phones every time one comes out and then do nothing but moan about them crashing and the signal dropping!!!

Hmm... Although fully bought into the Android market since I upgraded my HTC HD2 to one of the first Android ports (fantastic phone, that was... ) That's the thing.. fully bought into... Once Google or Apple have you, it's very hard to make the switch if you've invested in paid apps. Same in the Apple space with content (and to a lesser extent, Google-land).
I think the two things that steered me from Apple are control (mind you, the first thing I do with any phone is acquire root so I can tame the battery buy ensuring the CPU spends most of it's time asleep without trashing functionality) and that I can change the battery... You see, these batteries don't last forever and they degrade in time... Apple hate you doing that as it messes up the upgrade cycle (although the cult-of-apple means many users will switch to the next great thing in the number sequence as soon as they can)... Alas, now we're seeing the same thing in the Android space, including the HTC Desire Eye.

I've found this an interesting topic to follow. I've been an iPhone user for the past 5 years, plus I have an ipad, so I'm fully grasped by the apple stranglehold. I'm due an upgrade, and I've been looking at the options - I think it's time to step away from Apple with my next phone. Don't get me wrong, I've loved my iPhones, but I don't have loyalty to any brand for brand's sake.
After much reading, I'm going for a LG G3 I think. It's so much cheaper than the latest iPhones, and seems to be a great device.

Imagine having a phone that you had total control over and didn't have to constantly find ways around things to do simple tasks like putting music on that you haven't paid for or as mentioned changing the battery when the old one has packed in, My Daughters had her I phone for Eighteen months on a Two year contract and the batteries completely shot!!! She's having to pay her contract off and get a new phone because she's charging it Three times a day!!! Each to their own but I've never understood the hype surrounding Apple when there are Phones of comparable price or cheaper with vastly superior specs!!!

Alas, now we're seeing the same thing in the Android space, including the HTC Desire Eye. This has always been one of my considerations (and the reason I got a Samsung as my previous phone), however modern batteries are SO MUCH better than their older counterparts, (and I couldn't stand the thought of ANOTHER Samsung) so for the first time in 20 years of having a mobile, I now have one with a fixed battery, I hope it's not a mistake, and if it turns out that way the phone will be subject to internal scrutiny, but at least I'm back with HTC

This is true, Q. Wondering what I'll do in six months time when contract expires (hopefully I'll be sensible and let the contract shrink to SIM only).

My problem i that 02 seem to be very slow to unlock my phone so I can move the number to something like gift gaff. So far my fixed battery has been okay (iPhone 5) - although I do wish I could easily swap it out. I think I will use this phone until it is dead.

Kopiert you don't need to have an O2 phone unlocked for giffgaff.

I have an O2 locked iphone 5. Swapped to Giffgaff and very, very pleased with the prices and the coverage. Just send off for a giffgaff SIM card and your good to go once registered

I'm not a fan boy of any make, but as already said once you choose a system then it's hard to swap to another, I've had nokia, motorola,iPhone then a couple of samsung's and now back to an iPhone. concerning music another brilliant thing for apple is Genius playlists, love it, love it, love it. I've never had any trouble with batteries on any phone either, reckon people must be charging them wrong or summat, unless they are 4-5 years old then I agree they would be knackered, it all depends how much you use it as well I suppose, I'm not a heavy user like kids are nowadays, daughter sends more texts in one day than i do in the 2 year contract

You are SO right about sticking to a brand. I started off with a Sony Mars Bar, lovely phone but you couldn't lock the keyboard so I swapped it for a Technophone 402 (which was a Nokia clone), a real brick but I loved it, I then moved on through the Nokia range, 3110, 3210, 3310, 3330, 6600, N70, N85 but then I discovered Android and got my HTC Desire HD, moved over to Samsung with the S3 and now back with HTC Desire Eye, I'd have another Nokia in a shot if they made a decent Android one.
