Is the other tank a 510 connection?
I suspect the eGo fitment on your mini PT is the issue. They can do this, it's terribly annoying. Basically, the base of your coil head is not making contact with the 510.
..or it could be something unrelated.

Sounds like either the coils are dodgy or maybe you haven't tightened the coil enough so it's not quite making contact with the battery positive connector. what battery are you using ?

Ah the Evod batt don't help then, I was wondering if the batt had the facility to check coil resistance but the evod batts don't.
The coil should screw right into the base until the shoulder under the wick bottoms out on the base.
As a test you could ease out the 510 positive pin a mm on the bottom of the atty then carefully screw it onto the batt, I'd try confirming the coil head is screwed home first though.
The other issue with those heads is that the coil tails if left too long can short, can you take the coil out and post a pic of the bottom of the coil where th white from it is, can you see any wire poking out proud of the grommet ?

I know, because I have a box of mini Protanks. The iStick comes with an eGo-510 adapter. You attach the tank to the adapter and then the whole caboodle to the iStick. If the tank won't fire, you can tighten the tank onto the adapter not the battery/mod/box. Tightening onto a battery is always fraught with the problem of inadvertently pushing down the pin. I have some eGo tanks that won't work on evod batteries or spinners without some very careful tightening. In fact, from time to time I get one that won't work at all. In this case, you either have to lift the pin or use another adapter (similar to the iStick one). The advantage of the iStick one is that it's the correct length and has not let me down yet... 100% service so far.

It is indeed tooly, you'll just need to use the adapter that comes supplied with the iStick. and then remember to screw the mini PT onto the adapter 'harder' than the adapter onto the iStick.

right am with you now so so tightening the adapter on to the tank itself so it eliminates any need to want to over tighten it on to the battery

tooly, I just wanted to add the when you screw the tank back together all parts should sit flush.ie no gap. Perhaps there is something wrong with the threading. I'm not certain that buying just another battery will work if your tank is faulty. Do you know anyone else that vapes locally who could have a look? Perhaps you should speak to the vendor about your tank.

Can I suggest you screw the coil back in firmly as this might have been why it was not closing and not connecting with the battery.
When filling I often just check the coil hasn't loosened when I opened the tank.
