Hi & welcome to the forum, katequits. Well done on giving vaping another go & on your 10 days cutting down with it. New kit has been pointed out for you above, so with that & advice on here, at some point, you'll be cig free eventually.

Welcome katequitsI know of Vivid e-cigs as they are being sold through ASDA, although I have only seen/bought the liquid. Nationally, they are on a big advertising push at the moment. One of their 'billboard' ads is on the 7 lane A38 that leads into Birmingham. That road (the Aston Expressway) is an infamous road with no central reservation allowing a tidal flow of traffic. (I do get more interesting... ) It's a basic e-cig. Many of us on here quit with something similar. For £19.99, it's about £4 more than it needs to be, so not exactly bad value. What is bad value though are the tanks. They are disposable and don't last long. The first one I ever bought (from Vape Escape, so a quality one) of this type lasted me less than 48 hours. Vivid want people to pay £4.99 per tank. You can buy these nowadays for under £1.00So, that's where they are making the money. The liquids are bog standard and not good value even at £4, which I paid, and too expensive at £4.99 online. Best to keep what you have that is usable (or for spares) and start to think about something better. iStick is great! but you might do well to get some higher resistance clearomisers as it's very powerful. If you are coughing now, you'll be needing to calm the iStick down somewhat. Nice to see you on AAEC

Just spoke to my husband (non smoker) about buying an istick (I've already spent a small fortune on a load of juices) and he thinks it's a great idea in all these years he has never mentioned my smoking but judging by him REALLY pushing vaping I think it was bothering him! So a happy night with the wind howling, curled up with a glass of something nice (wine, vodka, cider ? Hmmm) and the laptop picking some new kit. I'm warming to this vaping very quickly! Am wondering (judging on my personality!) if I will find the savings! My mate gave up with a ego type 2 years ago and never looked for anything more. 10 days in and I'm obsessed #nohelpingsome

Hi katequits i would just say ask for advice and before you jump in go over to youtube and look up reviews of the kit people suggest. Honestly there are videos on just about every piece of vaping kit available on there and it's easier to get an idea of how things perform and work from videos when you're not used to the jargon and stuff.

katequits I think most of us have adictive personalities, hence why we found it hard to give up cigs in the first place. I think you are on the road to ruin, shinyitis already I would recommend eleaf istick (or varient of) and aspire nautilus mini with spare bvc coils, great bit of kit Oh and well done on getting this far!

If you're looking at an iStick, check out Provapes - they have them in their clearance sale for £19.99. You will need to get a new tank to go on top of it... I would suggest either an Aspire Nautilus mini or a Kanger Aerotank - you'll be able to find either of these on Myepack. ETA - just checked and the Aspire Nautilus Mini is on Provapes for £19.99. £2 more than Myepack, but if you get your iStick from them, you won't have to pay double postage and will get everything in the post together

I find I often get a metallic/burnt taste with both of my e-cigs, is that due to quality or the way I am using it would you think? The clearo's you currently have are a ' top coil ' katequits . . . you might find the taste improves a little for you ( while you await your new goodies! ) if you get into the habit of swooshing your eliquid round in the tank every few puffs, it just helps keep the coil ' juiced ' and should cut down on the burnt taste you're getting.

I have just watched a few reviews YouTube and because you all seem to be saying the same thing I am set on the istick. Thank you Lairey for the link, I will be buying from there The only thing confusing me is the tank.... Can I still use the ones I have with it? Will I need to keep replacing/buy a lot of spare tanks? How long do tanks last? Are they difficult to maintain? (I keep hearing words like 'wicking' and 'coils' and it all sounds a bit scary and technical for me!!) Thank you guys, joining this forum has been so helpful! xx

The only thing confusing me is the tank.... Can I still use the ones I have with it? - you can with the adapter that comes supplied with the iStick. Will I need to keep replacing/buy a lot of spare tanks? - no, but it's wise to have spares . . . especially something that has a glass tank, as certain eliquids can crack poly tanks.
How long do tanks last? Depends on a number of factors, eliquid used being one.Are they difficult to maintain? (I keep hearing words like 'wicking' and 'coils' and it all sounds a bit scary and technical for me!!) Any tank will need it's heating element ( wick & coil ) replaced on a regular basis to get the nicest possible vape from it.
It might be worth having a read through this thread as well Kate, just to get a better understanding. allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/thread/28309/pics-vids-get-started-abbreviations?page=1&scrollTo=513677

katequits - the Aspire 'Nautilus' I linked to at Myepack has replaceable 'heads' (the wick and coil that Perpetua mentioned above ^^^), and these will cost around £2.50-£3 each to replace, but everything else in the tank can be reused. It would be a good idea to rinse out the tank when you are changing the coil, using warm mildly soapy water and rinsing with copious warm water, then drying with kitchen towel or popping it on a radiator for an hour to dry (I use the paper towel method, it's quicker ). Even if you do break the glass tank, you can buy replacements too. I know £20 approx. sounds like a lot for a tank, but if you were smoking 20 a day, that's 2.5 days and you are saving money! There are many other tanks around which we can will introduce you to in time, but the Nautilus is a great first tank to own - I just wish something like this had been around when I started. Coupled with the iStick, you have an excellent combination there which will serve you really well.
