Hi All! My name is Kate, I am 30 years old and fairly new to vaping I started last Monday (so day 10) and have cut down from 15-20 cigarettes a day to often 3 but no more than 5. This has been easy but I stuggle still in the mornings (e-cig makes me cough!) and in work (can't chain vape!!) I do have a few questions about my 'kit' I bought a Smokers Angel ultra tank about a year ago (played with it for about a day and put it away until now!) It is ok, just ok, I ordered new atomisers and had problems with both that I ordered. So, I bought a vivid kit in the local shop which has thus far been ok. My question is, is this a decent starter kit or would you recommend getting a better one to start on the right track? If so, what? I really, really want to cut the smellies out completely so I need to 'absorb' myself in this I think! Thanks for reading, Kate x

Welcome and well done so far katequits. It took me a good couple of weeks to kick that first cigarette of the morning, so don't be too hard on yourself - it doesn't happen overnight for many of us. By the look of it, your Vivid kit is an Ego style battery and a CE4 type clearomiser - presume the heads aren't replaceable? There is better out there which in turn will give you a better, more satisfying vaping experience, the Leaf iStick has rather taken the vaping world by storm . . . . myepack.co.uk/mods/eleaf-istick-20w-mod.html

Hiya katequits to forum, feel free to ask away and sounds like you are doing well, its early days and there's loads to learn - not familiar with your gear but I do know theres tons of options and some are very reasonable. Its first 6 weeks that's the hardest I assure you - and you are almost half way there! congrats

Thank you all for the lovely welcome ) I am feeling a little more positive now that I don't feel like the only one that hasn't made a super fast transition!! I don't know what you mean by replaceable heads Perpetua? I can change the refillable bit that screws off. I find I often get a metallic/burnt taste with both of my e-cigs, is that due to quality or the way I am using it would you think? I had a look at the link (thank you!!) that seems very reasonably priced, my vivid was £20 and my smokers angel halo one £40 and they are the basic black stick type ones. Kate x

from me too. The vivid kits are a step up from the things that look like a ciggy (cigalikes) however have a look at myepack as Perpetua suggested, lots of goodies on their site and they are a tried and trusted vendor with very reasonable prices for the UK katequits

Will I notice much difference between the vivid/halo kit and a istick type thing? What will be the difference?
Thanks again all for warm welcome! x

Welcome katequits. I know what you mean by the morning cigs. Out of the twenty a day I smoked I probably had 7 to 9 of them between 6 am and 9 am. It was the hardest part for me. Once you get your kit and juices sorted out you will find it easier. I did have to deliberately break the habit of the coffee and fag in the morning, one on the way to the railway station etc. As for work I used to dive into the loo and blow the vapour into my jacket/shirt!!! Good luck, lots of help awaiting here Nick

katequits - hi and a warm and windy welcome from Cornwall! The clearos (tanks, by another word) that you have I suspect are not 'replaceable', i.e. the coils (the bits that heat the juice) are not accessible to change them over when the original gets gunked up and under-performs. This means that you will sadly have to discard the whole tank, and buy another. Here are some suggestions from Myepack for your consideration:- Evod starter kit - although basic, this will give you two batteries, one to use and one on charge, and the Evod clearomisers have replaceable heads which cost very little, and should last a couple of weeks each. Kanger Emow kit - a Variable Voltage battery where you can dial up or down the power depending on your preferences for a better vape. I would suggest you get another battery like this so you have a spare. Finally, the iStick and something to pop on top. Spare heads can be purchased for all these tanks - look here - and these batteries are compatible with a wide range of other tanks too, both 'eGo' fitting and '510' thread, meaning you will never be stuck for something to fit on top. Please continue to ask questions, that's what we are here for!

I think you will notice the difference with the Istick. It's a small oblong box light and fits hand well. Fully adjustable vv/we so you can find what suits juice you're vaping + you can get a pretty fuscia one. Cheaper from China.
The burnt taste could be coil needs replacing in your atomiser - the top bit that holds the juice. I would recommend Aspire Nautilus mini + pack of spare coils. Juice tastes much better out of glass atomiser. Also Joose Juice to try different juices.

Hi kate, good on you for getting this far, i have been off the stinkies now for 3 months, didnt think i could ever pack up, brought a unit, charged and filled with juice and 3 months later ( winner ) i feel much better now for giving up and you will to. has for kit, i got round it the hard way buying loads of different kit and juices, but i would recommend the istick seems to be a good popular unit and powerful enough to run most types of attys.
