I have mixed a lot of e-liquid, some better than others but I am finding that they have no, how to explain this, depth? The flavour is there but they are thin? I don’t mean lack of vg, I bought 50/50 pre made and have stuck to that with my mixing. Is it a case of adding more flavour concentrate? I am all about flavour and mix at 20% plus depending on what concentrate / recipe etc. I am struggling to explain but they all seem to be lacking something, they don’t fill my mouth with flavour like premades did. Sorry this is a bit vague but hoping someone may have some ideas

What recipes are you making reddragon? Is this with all your mixes? Have you tried mixing with more than 20%?

I have had this problem with my CLC mix which has been steeping for 10 weeks not. Flavour is there but tastes kind of watery.....

Be interested to see the answers on this myself.
Even though mine are sometimes 80vg/20pg mixes.
They sometimes appear quite watery in consistency compared to pre-mades.

Its not the consistancy, its the ooomph of the flavours. Its like not exactly weak but missing something! Its a shadow of its premade. BTW, I have no solutions. I'd add a bit of dulce a leche or sweetener or end up mixing 3 different mixtures together

I have mixed around about 400ml of various flavours and recipes off here The only one that is more than just “vapeable” is CLC but even that seems to lack depth.. My RA at 20%, lemon peppermint 20% and added 25 drops more to a 10ml, strawberry shortcake (TRR at 4%) chocomint 17% apple cinnamon danish 30% custard milkshake 26% bounty hunter 20% cool apple 20% vanilla cinnabon 32% pina colada & rum 20% strawberry icecream 25% strawberry licorice 20% butterscotch bliss 24% chocolate digestive 20% blaqnblue 24% elderflower & blackberry pimms 25% chocolate lime 22% wild berry chew 22% These percentages don’t include any sweetener, em, mts etc that is in the recipe.

I'm not really sure then reddragon. Maybe try adding a % or 2 of vanillin to the creamy type recipes? I don't really notice the same problem, but I do steep very well generally. Maybe Perpetua has some ideas?

I'm wondering if you need to add a tiny bit of a different taste type to bring some depth? I'm not having much luck explaining what I mean but here goes Taste, like scent, especially man made scent in perfumes etc is fTmade up of different layers. In scent you have 3 basic levels top middle and base, individual scents...oh sod it *googles* This explains what I am trying to say

I can mix some unflavoured base and post to you if you want to try that. Just let me know what PG/VG and nic you would like and PM your address to me. The only other suggestion I can make is get some MTS vape wizard and try adding 0.5-1% to a mix to try

I use chefs 72mg nic, pg from everything liquid, first lot of vg was boots, current lot is from everything liquid. I don’t make up a base, I do each bottle at a time. Most of my mixes have mts vape wizard, sweetener or EM in. I will have a go with vanilin in the creamy ones. Will have a read of that thanks Ratfinkz

Hmmm interesting one. You could try adding some distilled water (5 -10%) to your mix to see if it opens it up a bit. Much the same way as a drop of water opens up a whisky. Sounds a bit odd if your flavours taste ''watery'' but just a thought. To enrich a creamy mix, maybe something like Butterfly Bait, Calipitter Chow, Graham Cracker, Cookie, Butter.

Just a thought reddragon, prompted by reading beetle's post... I dilute my VG with roughly 10% vodka. Not sure if it makes a difference as I have done this since I started mixing. Maybe worth a shot?
