drat! at least we only paid £4 something for all three, and as you say - at least its cheaper than me buying 3 different sized drill bits if all I do is use them for hand coiling it'l be a decent thing to grip and wrap on ???

[This post is about the Coil Master not the Kuro] I managed to make OK 1 & 1.5 mm coils with 0.32 mm Kanthal & 0.21 mm Nichrome by fitting larger head M2 socket head screws (the heads are 3.7 mm diameter). The 1 mm is still tricky especially with the thinner wire & you need to do about a wrap and a half first to get it to catch properly.

Well, I must be odd then, because the coil master is working fine for me (sorry) I have backed the screw out of the 'spinney bit' a little so the wire sits between the screw head and the top, take it slowly, keeping an eye on it, back it off a bit if it seems not to be laying it correctly and it works well. Don't put pressure toward the main body.
I have used .2 .25 and .3mm wires and tried all post sizes. Had some problems with twisted wire, but that was my fault as I had not twisted the wire enough.

Geeze the reviewers make it look easy, I did notice in one that he took the coil off and turned it to close the open end off,

Is there a vid that shows a coil being made from start to finish in one single shot? Even with turning the coil should be easy to do. A lot easier than editing it.

Best try again perhaps? I did try backing the screw out a little but maybe not persevered enough, although 20 or so attempts should have got me somewhere? I have some .25 wire so here I go again. Thanks Rogerfailing that I obviously need some M2 screws? And thicker wire perhaps. I'd love it to work.......thank you VapingBad

sleedale Try getting it right with the .3 (or bigger if you have it) I practised with this size on the 3mm post as a. I could see what was happening b. you get more resistance/feel with bigger wire. You only need 1 piece, if you pull the wire back through the hole, it undoes the coil (sometimes )and you can mess around again. Like a lot of vaping stuff a bit of practice and messing pays off in the end. Wire is cheap!!

I had loads of .16 and .2 left over from early coiling days, so have been playing with twisting this. I had a new Bosch cordless drill/screwdriver for Xmas, it certainly helps

[This post is about the Coil Master not the Kuro]
It's diameter of the coil rather than the diameter of the wire that is the main problem, although thinner wire is harder to do. If you line up the heads with the rods in then pulled out to the coiling diameter you can see the gap between the screw and the rod gets bigger as the coil diameter get smaller when it should stay the same.

I must be missing something here ??? Surely the coil diameter can't be smaller the the diameter of the rod?? I am obviously being thick here (not unusual)

This isn't a good photo, but.....backed out the screw a little and started with half a turn then pulled the leg threaded through the tube thing really tight and wound slowly and found that if I sort of angled the turning head by gently pressing down on the rod, it worked more easily. Finally got three sort of coils, using .25 wire on the 2mm rod. Roger you are absolutely right.....practice and more practice and I'll try reusing the wire not recycling it! Now, off to order some more of the stuff (wire that is)

Pepperty I can make micro coils using the blow torch and tweezer method fine, quite enjoy it really, but these looked so quick and simple and no torch needed, seemed like a good idea Best order some more wire and some for the son as well!
