Hi All,
First let me say a huge thank you to you all! I've been lurking as a guest for a couple of weeks now researching e-cigs and have found a wealth of knowledge from this site and your posts!
My intro to e-cigs started a month ago with a Groupon offer for an e-lite starter kit for £15 (+£3 p+p) with the equivalant of 200 cigs. I bought 2 packs and felt safe in the knowledge of having 400 e-cigs. I must say I was, and still am, very impressed with the e-lites (the new G9 version) as the batteries do last 2 days at the most, as do the carto's. BUT I was still smoking about 4 to 8 rollies a day. (I'm normally 20 to 25+ rollies a day). I just didn't feel satisfied with each 'smoke' and so had a mixture of the e-lite vape and real smoke!
What bugged me most was the the carto's are advertised as disposable. It seemed a shame to throw away what appeared to be something more valuable and which was built to last more than 2 days, and which would cost £20 to replace for 5 pre-filled carto's! This is where I started my online search to find a cheaper alternative or a way to fill them myself. There is very litte information that I could find, but one of my search results were for a comment made on this forum referring to the fact that the fitment of the e-lite carto's/batteries aren't interchangeable with anything else.
So that brought me on to another search for a new starter kit, and to cut a long story short I finally decided on the ego 510 with the 1100mah batteries from Freedom vape! (Excellent service by the way!) It came with a 10ml e-juice, and I opted for the Marlboro 36mg and I LOVE IT!!! That arrived yesterday, and in between fiddling with my new gadget I also discovered that the e-lite carto's are refillable! Result!
I ordered some more juice from FV and a couple of cartridges (I prefer carto's to atty's but I got 2 atty's with the ego so I shall use them for the time being) Which arrived today - what a service!!! I also ordered another 6 juices from vapology (took advantage of their 3 for 2 offer on 30ml bottles) and got a couple of pick and mixes to boot! I will have 9 flavours to play around with and i can't wait. (Loving the gingerbread from FV!)
So to top it off, it is now about 30 hours since my last proper ciggy and I'm not craving or interested in having another, even though the tobacco is sat in the drawer! And even better - I have 4 long lasting, refillable e-cigs which should last long enough to get through the 160ml of juice I will have!!! BIG grins all round!!!!
I shall end as I started and once again say thanks to you all. You perhaps didn't know it but you helped me out tremendously!
Wayne

Hello & welcome Wayne Sounds like you are doing so well The false claims of companies like e-lites are one of the reasons I wont recommend them to anyone. So glad you have realised you can refill their cartomisers with e-liquid - there is no way they would tell you that as they want you to keep buying their over priced prefilled cartos.

Welcome from me too Wayne - looks like you have made a great choice. All I would suggest is getting some LR Boge or Kanger cartomisers (and a drip tip). I don't know what the e-lite ones are rated at, but these would probably give you a bigger belt

Kerby that was the way we all felt I started vaping xmas eve and not touched a smoke since then. I stepped up from ciggie looky like to an ego style battery then to the lavatube Its a great buy and from my 40/50 a day on rollies I pretty much chain vape and the L/T battery lasts all day and more. Good value too 2 Batts 2 Atomizers Charger a pack of 5 cartomizers and 10 ml juice £50.00 bargain

welcome wayne. they do keep putting temptation in the way, dont they? my kit has`nt arrived yet, but ive got the riva 1100 coming tomorrow and cant keep still for the excitement of it. me and my partner (gale) started on VIP ecigs a couple of weeks ago, and though they were great to start, it soon became obvious that there was a far cheaper way of vaping. thats when i discovered this awesome site. the VIP catomisers can be used with a 4081 (i think) adaptor, from www.liberty-flights.co.uk/product.asp?id=35yours will be different i expect, but email or ring liberty and they`ll point you to the right one. have fun mate

What I am loving about this Forum is that everyone encourages everyone else!
This is helping me no end today, not that I am struggling with out a rollie!

You will find guys that after maybe 6 months you tend to limit your spending , well unless something really good hits the market , only 12 months ago the technology with e-cigs took massive leaps forward . Then with the Lavatube hitting the market it all starts again , my LT was my treat to me for hitting the 1 year marker . I'm already wondering what I will treat myself to next year

Just to add to what Storm & others have said. If you curb your spending & don't go after everything new on the market, vaping is so much cheaper than smoking Anyone that starts off with a ciggie lookalike will most likely want to progress more or less straight away, to the Riva/eGo for better battery life. After that, a big battery holder of some kind really can work out even cheaper in the long run. Those who have got to that stage already may be wondering "why the heck didn't the members of the forum recommend a big battery holder/mod straight away?". Main answer being that most new members would run a mile at the size & secondly, when it gets down to recommending a mod it's almost as difficult as recommending an e-liquid - so much is down to taste

Welcome Wayne - I'm glad you've managed to find your way into the real vaping world.
Wise words from Chrissie there (as usual).
