As I know some of you are building Sheds, either Workshop ones or as Vape Caves (or, like me, both), I thought I would share my experiences so far. The shed that I bought from a well-known internet site was well below expectations, but with the help of some 6 by 2 on edge, two car jacks and a couple of neighbours, I have lifted 6” and now it is useable. I have glazed it with Georgian Wired Glass, installed a Distribution Box and run wiring to 4 double sockets and the lighting, plus a single socket that will not go through the Dist Box but remain live to run a small freezer for vaping stuff. The electrician is coming on Friday to connect it all to the house wiring.
I have built a moveable bench that I can lock all 4 castors. This will allow me to handle wood that is too long for the shed by opening both doors and positioning this bench between them.
At the moment I am working one the main bench which is 8’ by 2’ and I have yet to add another 2’ hinged bit that when down will give me a full 10’ work top but up will give me a place to stack spare timber.
Once this is completed I have shelves to put in, then tool racks, a Vice and finally “a vape corner” where I can mix e-juice, build coils, charge batteries and generally enjoy myself without interruption from SWMBO or Dogs.
So how are my other shed/vape cave compatriots getting on with their pride and joys?

Nice shed / mancave, but poor priorities! I thought that you of all people would have started with the vape corner then built the rest around it!

You need some brewing stuff in there. Here is the one I just built.

Postmodern Smoking, all my vaping stuff has taken over the study and Mrs Lobey wants her desk back. That was the only way I could persuade her that I needed a shed! Long gone are my wine making and brewing days. Hence the tins of Pepsi Max on the workbench. That is all I drink these days. Not even tea or coffee.

From your post It sounds like you are planning to do a fair bit of woodwork. If you are then get a couple of holes in the worktop for bench holdfasts. You only miss them when they ain't there. Also, some holes in the legs of the bench would be good to attach temporary steel or Iron weights to reduce vibration when you are doing any heavy work. I've found myself doing this to solid Beech benches to accommodate heavy plaining and my self built wood lathe (that washing machine motor is not the most balanced.
Beyond this a shallow shelf under the top adds stability and handy storage for offcuts, and even for tools between short jobs.
How I wish I could have my shed / workshop back....someday perhaps.
Looking good buddy.

Ah! the cunning takeover the SWMBO's desk plan! ... Looks like it worked and the manshed is progressing

Mrs Lobey had an operation in the local hospital yesterday and now home, I am her 24 hour Slave Carer. So no playing in the shed for a couple of days. Lots of plans and no actions.

I hope Mrs. Lobey makes a swift recovery lobeydosser and you can get back to your Mad Scientist Experiments in the Castle Dungeon garden shed.

Fortunately I tidied it all on Tuesday for the electrician coming tomorrow (but really so that I could take a pic of it when it was all pristine). Now I don't need to do anything in there until after I have its power supply up and running. I was getting fed up with extension reels and cables running all over the floor. I can't wait to get the main bench finished and get started on the Vaping Corner. Big plans for that with racks for flavours, ready made e-juices, dedicated charging racks, combined light and magnifier, soldering station, and loads & loads of shelves for everything else. I've already bought a comfy stool to park my weary bum. Oh well, better go and make lunch for Mrs Lobey. Like feeding buns to an elephant.
