I'm a pro (When I say pro I basically mean I've done it a few times and learnt a few things like when not to push to hard on a spanner as it's likely to slip and remover your knuckle lol) (Also no, it's a cold run down pos shed but it's better than outside and I'm used to the cold seeing as I've always lived in draughty houses out in the sticks. Seriously though, it's al good, beautiful machine the mk4 golf tdi, soooo easy to work on unlike many others I wont name )

Complete gates kit (£130 there abouts but worth every penny, one idler is a bit rattly and water pump bearing is rough so good timing so to speak lol)

Kudos to you (didn't realise pump came with kit ) Wanted no less (I actually just bought brand new rear callipers and hand brake cables then discovered the cooling system was getting pressurised so time for a new gasket then figured the belt is about due so might as well do that at the same time. VAG PD engine, any modern diesel really, use good oil, this was an engine I got 2nd hand (Halfords oil). After it broke down I used the cam followers & cam from the one I killed the bottom end in and drove for another year and a bit before part x ing it. E: Kudos to VAG it kept running until that photo, was still running but time to get taken home from Cornwall on the back or a recovery truck. It had over 170 k on the clock when I got rid of it. E2: That 2nd hand engine got us to both the Mediterranean and the Highland and back before it went Pete Tong.
