YW @yavape . . . I go for the ' lazy ' option every time, if there's a choice. Which is why you liked my post to coil link and not Perpetua's Bog off Greg . . . I got a ' like ' for picking you up on your faux pas. @yavape was just being diplomatic. Unlike myself . . . . .

No sitting on the fence now, just say what you're thinking

Well I have the taste 50w and a mini subtank on it's way, so I'll see how hard or easy it is to coil and maybe order some coils, from your link of course Perpetua

Ahhh yes good point Perpetua never thought of it that way , I can't wait to get my sub tank mini to have a go on , it will be a few weeks as I've ordered all my jigs and stuff from fastech so I have everything I need, I heard so many good things about the sub having great taste can't wait to compare it to the Atlantis, I did want to add a little bag of ready made to my order in case I went a bit wrong at first then all id have to do is wick it while I practise but there's that many I didn't have a clue which ones I could put on the mini sub , I don't suppose you know by any chance please ?? I might not need them ( hopefully lol ) but just in case it takes me a while I've my eye on a Nano @yavape, even though it doesn't have an RBA . . . thinking I'll have a go at rebuilding the stock heads when they need it, I do like small tanks. Given my coiling skills, I've ordered a selection of ready wound: www.fasttech.com/p/1907510www.fasttech.com/p/1945902www.fasttech.com/p/1995001www.fasttech.com/p/2061600Awesome, never knew you could buy coils pre-built like that! Bloody fasttech, they always find a way to empty my wallet  Cheers Perpy!

Even if your long term aim to make them from scratch, they can be a brilliant means of a little confidence building I reckon.

I do really like the nano because of the size I like smaller tanks but iv ordered the mini from fastech with the pre made coils so I can get used to the wicking first then once iv mastered that I'll start winding my own then I'll try the coil making bit but only to learn as I think with the deck do I really need to make coils when I can just rebuild it each time I know it's making coils but it doesn't look as fiddly as as remaking the stock bought coils though I could be wrong I suppose all you avid coil makers find it a doddle

@yavape - we only find it a doddle because it was fiddly the first couple of dozen times!! I had to recoil some Protank heads for my OH the other day, and made a right dog's dinner of it - yesterday went to a local Vapemeet and learnt how to easily twist wire, knocked up 3 twisted wire coils, installed them in drippers for people, and came home and recoiled all my drippers too! Once you have had the initial frustrations and failures (which will happen, all part of the learning process), you will open a whole new world of vaping experiences, as you will have the necessary skills to recoil any type of rebuildable atomiser. Then with a couple of Rasttech Kayfun/Russian clones which will cost you about £30, you will raise the game considerably

If wicking with cotton, you need enough to run easily through the coil, otherwise it will expand with the juice loading and suffocate the coil, causing dry burns and an unusable wick. If wicking with Rayon however, you need it to squeak as you pull it through the coil, as rayon doesn't expand with juice, so will therefore cause a dry burn. Different materials, different techniques, all learned through practice and a few nasty mouthfuls of vapour! If wicking with cotton pad, you will need about 5mm wide strip, and then gently roll it into a tube to feed through the coil. With cotton wool, tease out enough to roll into a sausage and feed through - with practice you will be able to accurately gauge how much to tear off a cotton wool ball, but this is a bit trial and error too. Hope this helps!

Thank you that's a big help they give you cotton wool with the coil so I'll make sure I can pull it through quite easy I'll get there and in a few weeks I'll probably wonder what I was worried about Not to easy though
