If pliers won't grip: try mole grips or a vice and if that fails try a more aggressive wrench that will bite into the metal (and damage the adapter), in extremes you can hit them with a mallet or rubber hammer. A cheap one on eBay, but maybe you or a friend has one.

You have some notches to play with so if you want to save the adaptor, use them, back of a blade, steel rule, anything that will fit snug and give you leverage while put downwards pressure.... If not and you're willing to sacrifice the adapter then a wrench of some sort will take it of, if you go large enough it will take it off in instantly, just try to keep it square/non angled/ straight etc while doing it to try to save the i sticks threads, they may be gone already, hence it's stuck.... edit...you can do the above and wrap some elastic bands around the adapter to make sort of soft grips, that may save the adapter too What VapingBad has linked to are also known as footprints if you know any plumbers they will own a set..

I'm not sure what you mean by the top bit mate as can't seem to fit a knife anywhere (what do you mean by notches?) Tried the spanner way numerous times but its just will not shift at all, the elastic bands just disintegrated when I tried that route can't believe its happened to both, fair enough the cheaper one, half expected that but its only lasted a week ...less in fact half a week ..meh

A pair of 'baby' (5") mole grips around the knurled part of the adapter, snug against the top cover of the iStick. Adjust them 'till they're tight then take them off and tighten a little more. Almost so you think you'll need another tool to close them. Now hold the iStick (horizontally) and grips in both hands and rap the handle of the grips smartly on the edge of a table top or step. If you hit the handle (and not the release lever) in the direction which the adapter unscrews it should shock loose. If it doesn't budge and the grips don't slip then hit it harder next time. Otherwise a padded vise and some huge grips and get medieval on it!

Sometimes a little reverse psychology works. Try tightening it a little first.

I'm following this thread with interest as I'd love to know if this is an iStick 20w or 30w? If it's the 20w is the adapter stuck due to difference in metals ie steel to brass fitting = brass softer has heated up and then semi welded the adapter to unit? I know this does not help the OP (forgive me) but I'd love to learn more about this unit. One piece of advice OP remember righty tighty lefty loosie! Of course you may be aware of that but sometimes the obvious is not always apparent!

lol Thought it was just me these things happen to Ive gone down the road of buying a wee Vice for £16 from Amazon. When it comes to the mega tank not unscrewing I use a Jewlers screwdriver and stick it through the largest part of the tanks airhole, then use the screwdriver for leverage to unscrew. I bought 510 adaptors but they are too smooth to unscrew if they stick a little, the MVP20 is too sharp and cuts your fingers, while the eleaf adaptor is too narrow to get a grip on at the base, for unscrewing without chewing up your fingers Vice and Jewelers screwdrivers are a must for ecigs I feel. Pain in the backside this ecig stuff
