.....Just Wondered, Does the 'Kit' (or 'Shiny-itus'..) Start Getting in the Way of Just........Having a Decent, Hassle-Free Vape?

Reason I Ask:-
I Vape, Pretty Much Exclusively, My Steeped Tobacco Juice....& Starting to Eschew Nearly All of Them For My Red Virginia & Old Holborn Steeps. These Gunk & Coat My Coils Incredibly Quickly...Which's Led Me into Playing Wiv Gennies/Mesh/S.S. Rope From Twin-Coiled/Muji-Wicked Magmas..etc....Now Have 3x Mech. Mods, 4 Drippers, 3 Gennies, 2 Taifuns, an Orchid & Half-Doz. Clearos......
I've Had Great Flavour From the Gennies/Drippers.........But For SUCH a Short Time Before I've Gotta Do Something 'bout the  Crap on the Coil/Re-Wick.....
Right....Been Out All Day Today, Armed Only Wiv MVP, An I-Stick (Orig. 20W) 2x Cheap FT Mini-Pro-Tank Clones (Tho' Air-Holes Drilled Out) & Spare Coil Heads (Re-Built, Twisted NR-R-NR Wire & Muji) These've Been BLINDINGLY Good All Day! Come Home to My Mechs & Gennies & I Know They'll Be Great.........IF I Arse About Syringing Juice From Tanks... Removing Mesh/Rope Wicks....Cleaning & Dry-Burning the Ribbon Coils....Torching All the Clogging Crap Off of the Mesh..... Putting it All Back Together...Checking For Hot Spots.....Oh Shit...Change Battery.......Get the Pic?...
OR...Just Swap the PT Head & Spend 1/2 the Time Re-Building Some More Whilst I Puff on the I-Stick or MVP!!
Anyone Else 'Downgraded' Their Kit or am I Just Risking Ex-Communication Here!!

You could say I've downgraded to the sub tank mini - until the next best thing gets released

some see it as a hobby and others just a means to an end, both options are viable

With you completely. I've been slowly 'simplifying' my kit recently.

I have still have a dabble and play when I have chance.

But for out and about, day to day. It's full time back on the clearos for me.

Subtanks and Atlantis. Spare juice, spare battery, spare cool head in the bag.

I've not downgraded as I've never really needed to upgrade all that much in the first place

In fact, I've just been discussing, in the staff room, my concerns about members thinking they need to buy the latest shiny (or not so shiny ) thing.

One of my main reasons for starting this forum, was to help folks save money - not spend it on the latest gadget

Got home this evening & picked up my Heron on a P3.... Perfect, backups available but not required

If clearos do it for you great, doesn't really matter what anyone uses so long as they get what they need from it.

I think the point here is "whatever floats your boat".
Personally, I think I have hit a plateau with atties; I like my Kayfuns, I can coil and wick them quickly and efficiently, and they do what I require them to leak-free and continuously for almost a week each until they need a quick dry-burn and re-wick.
I know I have recently acquired an MVP3, but this is for longevity of vaping between charges, important for me as I'm on the road a lot during the week. I still use my Magneto and Caravela at home in the evenings and weekends.
I mix my own juice, although today took delivery of some of the new T-Juice concentrates which I will play with tomorrow afternoon.

If you like the hassle-free clearo, and it satisfies your cravings, that's good. If you like tinkering and want a challenge mastering the latest atomiser, that's good. If you want the latest box mod and want to get into nickel builds and temperature protection, that's good. If you are happy with an XL Boge cartomiser and simple battery, that's good.

The important thing is that we are all saving ourselves. By not smoking, we, no, you all know the advantages, I'm not going to list them again here! As long as we aren't burning tobacco in any form, we are doing the right thing.

If we didn't have tinkerers, we wouldn't have the newest technology. Like anti-lock brakes, which were first developed on Formula One cars, and are now standard on the vast majority of cars, the vaping manufacturers need people to push the latest designs to the limits so that they can come up with an even better and more efficient means of keeping us off the fags.

yourgurnard - if you are happy with your set-up, the maintenance it requires, and the cost to your pocket, there is nothing to worry about. I couldn't stick to one or two juices per day, and you might not like the 'hassle' of maintaining a stable of Kayfuns. Let's all chose to differ, and celebrate our tobacco-free lives

I think every real upgrade has been worthwhile, these things have come so far in such a short time. Maybe more importantly, it has fueled interest in vaping and getting a more satisfying vape. Before you know it you`ve been vaping six months, then a year, then two years
