Mazz the newbie here with a quick question if I may? How often do the good folk of Vapesville clean their batteries?

I've only been vaping for a few days and to look at, my battery teminals (Riva 1100) look sparkly and clean. But, if I wipe around inside them with a piece of tissue I find a black deposit on the tissue. How do I know when to clean with alcohol? ???

I clean my main mods connections every two or three days but then I'm getting through 8-12 mls of liquid a day.

I clean when something stops working only because I forget to do it its not on purpose honest but when my hubby goes to work tomorrow, if I remember, I will get the Brandy down off the unit and soak everything in it what he doesn't know won't hurt him besides I bought it him 10 yrs ago and he has only had about half, he's a larger man so won't notice anyway!

I probably clean mine every hour of hard vaping. It takes so little time to take off the carto, run a cotton bud round the battery and wipe a tissue on the bottom of the carto (and the battery if needed)
It just makes sense to me. But then as Jemima says, I am also bad at overfilling cartos

My cotton buds seem a bit fat to clean around inside the battery, so I take some of the cotton wool off the bud to fit inside...... I suppose that is ok?
