Hi everybody! I was recommended this forum on MSE, I have just spent hours reading through it! The e-cig which I have read about the most is The Riva 1100, which I really like the look of. I just wanted to ask some questions first though! Are different e-cigs better for different smokers? I have cut down from 20 a day to 8 a day, and I only smoke very thin rollies now, does that make a difference to which e-cig I should buy? I bought one of those cheap disposable 10 motive e-cigs and have tried that today, i find that it doesnt give me the right kind of 'hit' though, and leaves a really wierd taste in my mouth! am I right in thinking you can get different strengths? Where do you put the E-liquid? I know you can get loads of flavours, but I just want 'Fag' flavour! I smoke amber leaf and mayfair if I can't be bothered to roll, is there anything that taste like that? also what are Atomizers? and Cartomizers? and drip tips? Is there anything else I need to buy? batteries? more cartridges? sorry for all the questions, I'm a little bit confused! Thankyou!

Hello Yummy, I am sure one of the more experienced members will be along soon to answer your questions, welcome to the forum.
From my limited knowledge the Motives 10 is disposable, dont know if it comes in different strengths but it is disposable meaning when you loose taste and vapour, bin it!
There are different ways to work with an ecigarette and the most recommended being the Riva. This is because although it doesnt look like a cigarette, it far performs better than the ones that do. It has a longer battery life - a day or more depending on how much you smoke.
Cartridges and cartomizers and atomizers are various parts that you can use with the Riva for your experience. The most recommended are The Riva kit with either Boges cartomizers or Kangers. Cartomizers are basically a cartridge and atomizer in one peice!! This gives you the versitility to fill up and go and occassionally top off with your fluids.
Ejuice is what will give you your hit and is available in various strengths, so it is recommended to get a pick n mix type selection to discover what strength and taste you like. Be open minded with flavours as when we give up the traditional, our taste buds do change but you may want to try some of the tobacco flaours to see which you prefer.
Hope that helps in any way and does not confuse you...I am sure the vets will be along soon

Pretty much what Mrsmac said, I started out trying with cartridgea and atomisers, but they are pretty pants. Cartomisers re much nicer, and less faff in the long run.
Since you don't smoke that much, you might want to consider a SD Keyring instead of a Riva - they are a bit smaller so you'll probably need two, Onthe other hand, the big battery on the Riva gives me a full days vaping, and a bit more versatility in what I can screw into it.
Oh and adrip tip is used for direct dripping on to an atomiser (advanced and messy), but lots of folks (well, actually, everyone) use them inserted into a cartomiser as a more comfortable mouthpiece.

Great advice and pointers in the right direction for information Yummy, a warm welcome from me. Anything that you're not sure about, just ask away . . . it does take a little time to get to grips with everything and the terminology used.

Hello Yummy and welcome to the forum. It is all rather confusing to start with reading about batts, carts, atomisers, cartos etc but it will click into place and until it does just ask all the questions you want to. You can guarantee if you post a question, there will be plenty of other forum visitors thinking it as well

Welcome Yummy If your happy with just 8 thin rollies a day then the Riva should give you very good battery life, you may even be able to go for one of the smaller lookalike types, although if you find you enjoy vapeing the Riva will give you more options for the future.

Welcome from me too yummy. Same advice from me - get a Riva kit and a drip tip. If you are looking for more hit I suggest you go for LR (low resistance) cartomisers and at least 18mg nicotene strength e-liquid - maybe more. It is easy to dilute the strength if it is too much, not so easy to go the other way!

Oh yes, as dave say's, don't forget a drip tip. They make the whole vaping thing a whole lot better than sticking the end of the cartomizer in your mouth. They are just there to make it nicer to vape.

Hello and welcome yummy That name reminds me of the cocomel flavour I have just recieved from jason and the gang at vapescape (Sorry guys I couldnt wait the required 48 hrs just had to try it) Think this may be my main vape for now Hmmm "Yummy" Back on subject I think the sd keyring might be a good way to start along with a couple of extra cartomizers and some testing flavours should cost more than £25 ish and will keep you going for a while. I was on amberleaf at about 40/50 pd but the I seem to have gone off tobacco flavours now
