Hi everyone, my first post here.
Was smoking analogues for a long, long time, 20 a day. I didn't know about this forum till a week or so ago so when I went on the hunt for an e-cig I didn't have anyone to advise so bought a Gamucci micro from prezziebox. I bought lots of cartomisors and an extra battery so I have 3 but they don't last long, seem to be forever changing and charging them.
It arrived just over two weeks ago, charged it up and that was it no more analogues need apply here. Found I was vaping like mad first week but then it settled down.
I never expected just to stop the analogues, in my mind I though I would use the e-cig to cut down, but still now I don't want one and happily go to counter where analogues are sold and am not tempted at all.
I toddled along to Fag Ends and my reading was zero just after one day on e-cigs and they were actually very supportive of me using them.
Thanks to Womble from here and some others on the MSE Electronic Cigarette thread I found this forum and found out that I could reuse the cartomisors so bought some e-juice which arrived Monday and enjoying it.
Now I want to move to something better and I see so many say the Riva is one of the best for the next step. I don't want anything to big or heavy as I have some issues with holding things that are heavy, or light at times and also want something that won't break if dropped a couple of times - hands just open up.
I just have a couple of questions I don't like to much vapour so I should buy normal resistance cartomisors, is this correct? For me its the taste and throat hit that is more important.
As I like more throat hit a higher PG would be best, am I right?
Also where would be the best place to buy the Riva starter kit, if that is the best one to go for, as that plus say a couple of packets of cartomisors and some more e-juice should then see me into next month at least.
I am hoping to spend around £50 altogether ( I don't seem to be to heavy on the e-juice I have used around 3mls since Monday and still have 12 cartomisors I filled to use up. They were tobacco flavours and as I have them plus still have 28 unused cartomisors for my Gamucci all tobacco - the batteries should last for them I hope. I want to try another flavour or two, most like the samples by Grizwald ( Have I got name right sorry if its not).
Womble waving to you, see at long last I am here:)
Thanks and can I say this forum is such a mine of information.

Hi and welcome, nice to see you here I started off on SR cartos, then switched to LR when I wanted a bigger hit. I would start this way if I was you. I didn't notice much difference in vapour with either. But if you follow dave's advice, you can get a pack of each with the starter kit and see how you get on. I would say to just try a few juices in the type of flavours you think you will like to start with. Almost everyone's tastes change after a short while, even if we always think they won't I wouldn't worry about the PG/VG mix to start with, just get a few std juices and see how you get on with them. Carry on the good work!

Hello & welcome Prepareathome I'm also so glad to see you here - I'm Isaac over on MSE btw Just to add to all he above info. If you really did find the Riva too heavy (though I'm sure it wont be much heavier than a Gamucci), you would be able to sell it in our classifieds section

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome and advise. Well I have taken the plunge and ordered myself a Riva with the I extra cartomisors and asked if ones in starter kit can be changed so will have both types. Sadly they were out of the black ones which I liked the look off so instead have gone for the gold - thought go for it as I am not a gold type of person, but am not the same person I was just over two weeks ago and I just cannot believe how easy it was. Also got a couple of e-juices. So still not saved anything on giving up as what I had spent so far was equal to two weeks analogues and now spent well just over a weeks cost of them but will have enough to keep me vaping for about a month if I continue I am doing, one of these days I will be ahead money wise Popped into my local newsagents just before to pick up my mags, was first time I had been in since I stopped the analogues and he had my usual pack on the counter before I reached it. Had to break it to him I don't use them any more I won't top up any more for the Gamucci cartomisors will just finish up the ones I had refilled, got more than enough to do till my Riva is ready for action. Oh am so excited, not some thing I ever got over getting my weeks supply of analogues.

Once you have your kit, your running cost should be around £12 a week (generous) PROVIDED you can resist buying more and more lovely flavours and the next big thing in gadgets and gizmos for your E-cig.

Hello prepareathome wishing you a warm welcome... loved to read that you found your transition from smoking to vaping so easy... its a fab feeling being able to walk right past the ciggy counter you'll find the riva a huge step up with its battery life and you are quite right with the base for the eliquid, PG greater throat hit and less vapour ...cant wait to hear how you like your new e-cig

Oh Jason is it, emailed me to say my order was on its way, such quick service, ordered it around 14.10pm and by 14.39 he had emailed to say it had been shipped, does he live in the Post Office???? My post can come anytime from 7am till 3pm bet tomorrow its a late day, I will be haunting the windows to keep a look out for postie.......... I have to admit I really am so excited as this will be my first ( to me ) real step to being a non-smoker with the Riva unlike the Gamucci micro not looking anything like an analogue. I really will be putting smoking in the past tense with not even a lookalike in my hands Hubby says I am a kid on Christmas Eve but he feels happy for me as he is still totally surprised at how I stopped, in fact for the first week he was rather negative about it, saying well its early days, and you have said you wish you had a cigarette - which I did I admit for for week on and off but never considered going to buy any. Now he realises I really do mean it I do not want one and feels if a new kit keeps me happy and stops me even being tempted its a small price to pay - he has never smoked and hated the smell etc., not so much when he was younger but was getting a real grouch as he got older, so I kept my smoking to one room only with an air ioniser in it, did work quite well. I have noticed that my taste buds are starting to work again, which I find amazing - ate a cheapo shortbread which I always thought were fairly tasteless but wow could taste the butter in them, first thing I had noticed and so today been checking everything I eat and yes a lot of things taste better, not everything so hoping the others start to work again properly. Right off for a cuppa and a nice vape
