I have around 27 mini nautilus BVC coils. Do I keep buying them or is there a good guide on how to recoil/wick them. I have wire (0.25mm kanthal) and organic cotton wool balls but I'm guessing I need the little pads now. Is the wire ok? how fiddly is it to do ?

Thanks so much Get Off My Cloud I can never find stuff when I look. Will have a look at them and see if I'm up to the task. Bad eyesight make the small things so much more difficult

Can I unroll a cotton ball to try it out or must I use the pads? Also using .25 kanthal what mm on my mandrel should I use and how many wraps? At the moment my coils are 2 ohms and got my istick 30w set to 4.1v or 8.4w. Really sorry for all the questions but still new to coiling.

They are a complete nightmare, stopping the vertical coil from shorting is a s-d.

I imagine you could use regular cotton wool but i would assume you would get a more uniform result with the pads because the cotton will be the same density and thickness throughout and so it would wick evenly.

Oh no. Didn't want to be chucking them out Being a newbie at it I've no clue about shorting stuff and what to look for to try and prevent it. Where can I get my hands on these pads? Obviously don't need millions. Saw 5 pads for $1 on fasttech but is there somewhere in the uk I can get quicker? Has anyone been really successful on here at recoiling these wee gits?

I have tried several times to coil them and they are a total pain in the backside, assuming you get the coil nice wicking is a totally different matter. The best I have done was useing the cotton pads from vapemesh. And the composite cotton wick to replace that fine stuff that covers the holes. This worked great with 70/30 liquids but dry hit on 50\50.
I don't use either of my nautilus tanks anymore as tbh there are a lot better out there. Both will be in the classies soon lol.

rednutt, muji cotton in the UK. If you go over the road to UKV there is a pictorial guide in the tutorial section. Give me a mo and I will get a link for muji UK!
