.....................sigh ??? Not trying to make excuses but my head just wasnt in it, got all excited, order my kit, juices, atomisers, and started, but just stopped trying. Hit a brick wall I think, just had so much going on here at home trying to get my lounge decorated before xmas (well me supervising it anyway lol) and loads of hospital appointments, then since christmas absolute uproar upstairs in my house trying to get my daughters room redecorated and her new posh bed put up whilst also trying to get part of my room decorated so that I could get a bigger wardrobe (had to paper behind it so it doesnt have to be moved) and council workmen in my house and furniture and toys and teddys everywhere, blah blah blah blah............................ Just been a nightmare few months, I know I shouldnt make excuses but well everything just go to me and I just needed to smoke *sigh* One thing too, my eldest sister is a Senior Cessation Officer and at a birthday lunch last sunday (for me lol) I spoke to her about e-cigs and she shook her head in disgust, stating that the juices contain carcinogenics Have googled it and have seen some information but really havent been able to get my head round anything so didnt really take it all in. *blows out a big puff of exasperated air* :-[

Och poor you... Lots of scare stories on google...don't worry about it...many have been vaping on here for months/years...no cancer... As for smoking cessation officers . They are anti e-cigs cos they're not licensed....get on your wee e-cig and give it 6 months and see what your sister says then We are the canaries but in my opinion the canaries were the wisest ones.. So yeah don't lose heart. When you are ready try the e-cig again and enjoy

Awww justjj don't worry about it. If it helps i never fully took to it either still preferred a proper cigarette over a vape. Maybe now isn't the best time for you, maybe you could try again when your life is a bit less hectic...if you want to.

Hi JJ, don't worry, you can try again if you feel like it, even if you just cut down here and there it must be beneficial

This may come across as tough love, but bear with me. Stop thinking in terms of "quitting" or "smoking cessation". Quitting anything is hard. Always. Never easy. However, changing your brand is a piece of cake - we've all done it. And that's all you're doing with changing to an e-cig. You're changing brands. That simple. E-cigs ain't for quitting with, they're for enjoying as an alternative way to continue doing what you were doing, with the major advantage that they won't kill you.
Doesn't that make it all easier?

That's been my philosophy since I stated vapeing I just changed brands, went digital (even the BBC went digital eventually ) If anyone asks me I still smoke, I just prefer vapeing today. Tomorrow may be different.

hI justjj.. With all that going on I can understand why it was so difficult *soo many triggers happening at once* like a lot of others have said, maybe it just wasn't the right time.. I know It took me several tries before I finally got there, and I know there are many others, so your definatley NOT alone... don't beat yerself up!.. you made the choice to transit from Analogues to Vaping!.. just breeeeathe, don't stress, if you need too, just re-choose when the space feels less hectic No Biggie!.. and allow the energies to serve You.. you will do it eventually!.. and you will be proud and amazed with yourself, as will many others I expect!.. I found with vaping the "not smoking" part just sort of crept up on me...You will get there, *your already there* now your just working through how you got there...

Sorry to hear you've fell off the wagon, I hope you manage to try again... I am a little confused though, I thought that it contained no carcinogens, that was what was written in the "government nudge unit recommends E-cigs" article I read, let me see if I can find it. www.guardian.co.uk/society/2011/sep/14/smokeless-nicotine-cigarettes-governmentwww.e-cig.org/2010/01/13/scientific-testing-verifies-electronic-cigarette-vapor-does-not-contain-carcinogenic-tsnas/However an FDA test done well back said SOME E-cigs did, but has repeatedly been proved wrong... Now I'm not the most experienced vaper, I'm very new to all this, but I wasn't about to put something into my lungs without doing a lot of research... Which reminds me, I have my own theory... If the FDA over heated the atty, or ran it dry, essentially burning the filler, could that produce results showing carcinogens???

You are doing brilliant, so you haven't stopped smoking so what, you are trying aren't you and that is what counts. So you may take awhile, it doesn't matter. As to the e-cig juices containing carcinogenic can you get your sister to show you the info on this as where I live we have one of the worlds most famous lung cancer centres and my smoking Cessation Officers come from there and they have told me they are 100% behind anyone using an e-cig to stop smoking. I spoke to one on Thursday and she said it doesn't matter what the route you are getting there, and if your e-cig is keeping you happy continue with it, we cannot officially say to people get one to use as a stop smoking aid but we are quite happy to back you if you choose this. She also told me they are trying to get e-cigs approved as the know they cost is stopping a lot of people trying them and they feel even if they cannot supply the e-cigarette but just cartridges for them, it would get a lot more people off the cigarettes. If they were so bad would they be doing that - they are giving me the full service to help me stay on the e-cigs - meeting once a week, they call me once a week and I can call them daily if I want to. This centre by the way is where all the stop smoking stuff came from they started it all up in the first place, so if they are happy with e-cigs then your sister should be, and I am hoping the government will be. Now back to you, you are not a failure far, far from it. You have had a lot going on in your life and so you reach for what is comforting and usual totally normal. Maybe just daily pick up you e-cig and try it instead of even just one cigarette, no more and don't even think but this is my first step to stopping them, just replace one and stick at that for weeks. Just the fact you tried and what to your eyes failed is a big, big plus, you are trying as someone said its not stopping its changing your brand, what a great way to put it. You are slowly changing from the cigarettes carcinogenic to the much healthy brand of e-cigs. You are not a failure just remember that. Sending you lots and lots of hugs

Dont worry about it, with so much going on it will be hard, as people have said its not giving up, just changing.
Perhaps when things settle down, give it another go
(((((((hugs for you))))))))
