Thanks all - I was beginning to worry - unnecessarily it seems. That's very re-assuring. Firstly, to the forum and for quitting smoking. Nothing to worry about at all. Just don't buy your gear from market stalls or unknown retailers. If in doubt, ask here. One thing you will find is that you will need to drink more while vaping. The major ingredient in e-juice is a propylene glycol (PG), which absorbs water. You will probably get a dry mouth/throat. Sometimes people have a PG intolerance, which is easily rectified if you find you have it. Good luck for your future

Welcome aboard annedee. Don't worry how much you're vaping. Seriously, until recently I was vaping away 30ml of juice every day. Never did me any harm thumb up

annedeeI can assure you, your nicotine intake hasn't gone through into space. How to explain this would take two pages which I can't face writing. What the internet tells us about the amount of nicotine in certain e-cig products bears no relation to the truth. You are not smoking, so that is AMAZING. If you are chain vaping... go with it. Unless you were smoking Silk Cut super-premium platinum specials and are now vaping 10ml of liquid @ 18mg you are safely on the right side of trouble, I'm sure.

annedee- hi and a warm welcome to the forum. You have already received some great advice from *-SARIN-* and others, so please don't worry about how much you are vaping. If it were calculated scientifically, you would probably be pleasantly surprised at how little nicotine you are taking in compared to your tobacco consumption. If I get the opportunity I vape. If I don't get the chance, unlike smoking fags, I don't miss it at all. A case in point: this very afternoon I was doing some work on my van on the drive. After an hour and a half, I decided to stop for a vape, only to realise that I had left my stuff in the house and I had work boots on, laced right up, and it would have been a right royal pain to take them off to retrieve it, so I carried on, for another hour, and then asked my daughter to pass it out when she got home from work. Now, had I been smoking, I would have had at least 4 fags in that time; as it was a couple of toots on my juice and I put it down in the garage and didn't touch it again for another hour. Nicotine, addictive!? Not as much as all the other chemicals in tobacco placed there specifically to reinforce that addiction! You may find it hard to believe, but tobacco has 4,000 chemicals added, mostly to make sure you stay addicted to smoking. With 4 ingredients in e-juice, you can be sure that quite soon you will find that tobacco loses its hold over you and you can start enjoying all the benefits of vaping v. smoking

Yes chykensa good point, that's exactly how vaping is for me too, now. Considering I was a slave to cigarettes its been wonderful to realise that my nicotine addiction isnt anywhere as fraught as my fixation on smoking! I cant really even pinpoint where I swapped over for 'needing' to just liking (to vape) it comes to us all eventually! I cant believe how stress free quitting the fags is via vaping and I still cant fathom why the government/NHS isn't promoting it more... Tease-smiley I think they are mad!

Hi and welcome to the forum and a very big well done. What an achievement, brilliant. If you need to Vape constantly to stay off the stickies - DO IT.
I think the chain vaping is something most folks go through and I think there are a number of factors that add to the need to do it.
A few thoughts,
I believe there are other addictive chemicals apart from nicotine in a ciggie that also cause withdrawal symptoms (although less severe) and it is this withdrawal that also needs satisfying and you try to do it through vaping. Over time this will fade.
As others have said the nicotine absorption through vaping (unfortunately, in particular through the starter kit you are using) is less efficient than smoking but so much better for you and the need for nicotine in a lot of cases reduces as the levels in your system reduce over time.
The whole hand to mouth habit is also being satisfied but perhaps we over compensate?
After a bit of time it may settle down but hey if not, enjoy, nothing about vaping can be anywhere near as bad as a stinkie. I am coming up to my 3 years anniversary and have started to think about stopping vaping (well, in brief moments that soon pass) but as I really do enjoy it - Vape on.

annedee I wouldn't worry about nic intake at all, I have lots of 18mg liquids to plough through and chain vape at home all the time, I started on 30mg then 24mg and chain vaped them as well, I make some myself now at between 10 & 12mg and pre-made I buy at 12mg and that seems ok for the evenings but daytimes at work when I can only snuck out a couple of times I stay on the 18mg.
