In light of what happened on Daz's thread on the suppliers board, I was wondering if there has ever been a 'no specific subject' chat thread in here, or even if it would work if there was? Any opinions?

In my short time here I've seen loads of threads go off topic and usually they are still useful. I can understand that Daz was trying to sell his new product but really I think there has been a bit of an overreaction!

Could it not just have been made into a joke (like most things are around here)

Converstions naturally evolve, so do threads. I've not experienced any other supplier reacting like this.

Daz, why don't you re-post with a warning to us chaty newbies not to go off topic again? Honest we won't! We all do want to hear about your new products

In my considerable experience on boards, once they start to become regimented/heavily policed folk smell a rat and drift away, all that is left are folk trying to flog stuff....
My opinion of here was first and foremeost to chat/help/inform each other, the vendors being as much a part of it as anyone else as "enthusiasts"...but hey! I thought that when I first joined TW and I couldn't have been further from the truth

Not to my knowledge Anne there hasn't , but since the "upset" last year over threads going off topic / being hijacked i tend to just stick to the members board especially now in light of the fact i'm not vaping anymore, i don't have an awful lot to contribute to any of the others.

Macca has suggested I turn to a life of crime, smuggling . . . I'm giving it serious consideration, as I think it could present some new and as yet unexplored wardrobe opportunities.
