So I finally got a dna30 chip to commit myself to my first box mod build and have been trawling shapeways and t'internet generally for a box to put it in. I'm in no great rush as I will research the build as thoroughly as I can before starting and have already figured out that building something the size of a cloupor mini is probably out.
Can anyone recommend a suitable enclosure for this little project, I don't really fancy a hammond box as they are either really big and/or need a lot of refinishing to look anything like. Did see a kit on stealthvape which looked interesting but they are out of stock. Any suggestions?
I'm an electrical engineer and don't mind trying something a bit challenging, but not too challenging for a first build.

Hello Depends on how much work you want to put into your first one. Do you want use the onboard buttons or try something with seperate ones which means more driiling, mounting and soldering.

Was going to suggest to them they should change the description but dont want to hack them off as i buy a lot of gear off them

Yes saw that one archiecat @windows and am still really tempted to go for it I'm just not sure which route I would have to go with it as it is small, would there be enough room for separate switches and something like a fat daddy or would it have to be using the onboard switches, which I don't mind if there is a mount available from shapeways or somewhere, by the way i'm not bothered about usb charging as I charge batteries separately.

Oh and in answer to your question @windows I don't mind putting the work in either way, I'm also quite good at binning stuff and starting afresh

Well ive had a quick measure up and its tight. The chip mount is the biggest problem as the depth of the box is the same as the width of the dna. There is a few chip mounts that might suit on shapeways, but a lot of them dont allow you to tuck thr screen underneath. You should be able to get some tactile buttons in there with a short body fat daddy.

If you want a build that you wont end up binning you could go for a gripper.

Thanks @windows do you think it would be possible to mount the screen on the longer side not the button side if you get me with a tuck under chip/screen mount then, much like on the Hana.

That is so neat and tidy, I had a look at the gripper (and everything else I could find) and I'm tempted it's just a bit big @windows
