Hi if im posting in the wrong place ? Sorry, please move to where appropriate..
I left a full tank atty on my istick 50 and it leaked juice ;( the istick died as a consequence..
so far i have pulled the insides out and wrapped in paper towels to absorb any juice residue and dry out, but still no joy ;(
Any ideas or pointers as to how i should move forward with a fix..

Try a hairdryer on the circuit board if you can get to it, other option is to put it in rice and hope it absorbs the moisture... trouble is the damage may already be done.

bowl of dried rice will extract liquid but as its not water i think its politely fekked
this is what we advise for spills on laptops but it needs to be done quick. anything with sugar in it like tea/coffee fizzy drinks its normally game over.

aww I feel your pain, I had one of my vaporsharks killed off by a leaking tank - I could have wept! but the chip was fried. Nowadays I try to remove tanks from my batteries as a habit

This may sound daft but I've recently dissasembled a dead istick 50w I was given. This had juice inside which had totalled the onn,off button. I used isopropyl alcohol to clean the board and buts off with a Qtip.
After cleaning it would turn on and could adjust watts up down only if I bypassed the on/off/fire switch. Give this a try as it might ressurect it. I need to replace the fire button on this one, currently trying to find a suitable replacement but looks like I might have to bodge a slightly larger button in there lol. Hope you get it sorted.

Cheers.. I will try the rice but its all dry now just not responding when plugged into a charge source.. the wrapping around the cells has suffered some ingress as they are starting to unwrap.
would ethanol 97% do instead of isopropanol ??

if its dry now then the rice sadly wont help.
funny story though with laptops. someone posted on a techy help forum and the he was advised to get some rice. an hour later he posted again that it cost him $20 to buy the rice but when he got it home it was special fried rice. the numpty had only ordered it from a take away.
only in America.

Is the 20w Fire button the same as the 50w fire button ? If so I can send you a dead 20watt board to rob if you wish.

ive not used a 20 but the 30 is square and the 50 rounded so i guess the 20 will be more like the 30.

I wouldn't use ethanol unless you know the percentage of alcohol, 99% isopropyl will be better.

This is one of the classic ways to destroy a variable power e-cig. No nothing will help via a very experienced modder! I did the same thing to a lavatube the other way enroute to an allotment. Handbag with leaky water bottle and e-cig in it (not much else) - lavatube dead! You are now a mod destroyer phatfilNext stage in mod destroying is dropping the thing at a vending machine!
