You know you're getting old when the headlines are about people you grew up watching ... Seems to hit home more now as as a kid I remember my parents saying 'so and so has died' and I'd not heard of them ... then you hit the time when you had heard of them and grew up watching them on TV etc ... RIP Cilla x

just a thought ... could you not re-name this thread 'RIP Cilla' instead of 'Cilla Black Dead' ....... sounds a little harsh ? (or is this just me?)

Another `great` entertainer of my era has sadly passed over. I have fond memories of a very talented woman.

Is it just me ? I find it quite scary that the news reports now tell of people I knew - grew up with with ?

years ago my parents would listen to the news and comment on 'so and so had died' and I knew nothing ! Then suddenly the people who had passed away I knew, remembered ?

Only the other night we watched a clip of Tommy Coooper and I said to wobble I remember watching his performance at the royal variety performance where he died !?

All of a sudden you hit an age when the 'famous' people dying are people you knew ? All deaths are sad don't get me wrong, but it kinda hits ya like a brick then those in the news are people you grew up with ? remember watching on TV ?

The one thing I will remember about her is her smile

Oh no, I'm absolutely stunned, I loved Cilla, she was down to earth along with being one talented lady. I feel like crying now, am so sad to hear this.
