Need a replacement for my istick 30w which has been great.
I used a Aspire K1 tank with the BVC could (1.8ohm). I have quite a stock of the coils, so want to stick with this combo for now at least.
I find the battery OK on the 30w but would be nice to have a bit power life in it. The size of the 30w is perfect, so don't really want to go much bigger.
So....is the 40w TC a good bet? Will it work OK with the Aspire K1 and how will battery life compare to the 30w? I also need to research TC as that's new on me!!!
Or are there any other alternatives I should look at?
Thanks

You don't have to use it in TC mode either superdon . . . . I don't mine, it's a great little device regardless.

Thanks all. Sounds like the istick is the way to go. The 50w is pushing it size wise, so will stick at the 40.
On my other thread the Cool Fire IV and Wismec Presa were mentioned as possible alternatives. Both look nice, but are more expensive. I presume there are no other benefits to either of those over the istick 40?

I have the 40w istick and the cool fire 4.
Despite the iStick battery being 2600mah and the coolfire being 2000mah I find the coolfire lasts longer.
I don't use temp cotrol or sub ohm. I run a subtank mini on both. Both have a 1.4ohm coil in and both run at 16-18 watts.
I find the coolfire battery outlasts the iStick.
But if you want a small mod there's nothing that really compares to the iStick. Despite its lacking battery life I absolutely love it.

I agree ^^^^^ Jerri the istick 40 battery is pants ... I much prefer the coolfire 4 or the istick 50 I can only assume the battery isn't rated as it's supposed to because a 2000mah battery shouldn't be outlasting a 2600mah battery. I could understand if it was different tanks etc but I use exactly the same tank and they're both set to 16.5watts running a 1.4ohm coil. One has custard cream in 70/30 one has custard doughnut 70/30. But as I said I don't mind. I love it. It feels solid. The fire button is my favourite of any mod. And I'd buy another in a second. I love the shape too. I have a smok m80 which I take if I'm going to be away from a charger for any length of time. The way I vape I get 5 days out of that.

Yeah it has a great form factor ... Very pocket friendly and a great stealth vaping device. I just wish that I spent more time vaping it than charging it.

Jerri As the iStick40 has TC, I believe it does more coil monitoring which is why the battery runs down faster. Not sure if it *should* monitor the coil in watts mode, but maybe it does. Then again, I might be talking out my ass as I don't have one. But TC devices have to do more *off-line* stuff. So it may me taking measurements of the coil even if it is not being used. Investigate that if it worries you. The answer is out there somewhere, and it seems nobody here knows yet. If you find out anything new, please let us know too. Thanks
