Oh dear I have a problem it's to late for a doctors appointment today and I'm not quite sure it's a&e worthy or not yikes I've woken up with morning and that dangly thing at the back of me throat is nearly the size of my thumb and keeps touching the back of my tounge My throat started to feel a little scratchy yesterday when I filled an echomizer with hs menthol for the first time in weeks ,ive been purely using the stardust , now I've been using the same jucie so I don't think it's anything to do with that And I started vaping using echomizers and never had any problem although these are from a new batch I got on the group buy I haven't eaten or drank anything any different either I'm a bit freaked out what should I do :-[

I can't get an appointment for today des This drives me crazy........ > You should be able to get an appointment on the same day. What about ringing NHS direct, they will ring back and give you advice. But the problem with that, is that they always give themselves a get out clause, by saying if you feel it's needed, then go to A&E.......... which doesn't help very much. I would say (not medical advice, just common sense) if it's causing you either swallowing or breathing problems, or anxiety problems, then go to A&E. Do they not do emergency same day appointments at your doctors?

Go to an outpatients at your local hospital, if it gets any bigger it may restrict your breathing. Or ask for an emergency appointment at your doctors, they usually keep a couple of slots back for this eventuality. It's probably an allergic reation, they'll probably give you a anti inflammatory and maybe some anti-histamines. Just tell them you have a swelling in your throat that is stopping you breathing properly.

Agree with emergency app or phoning NHS direct. After a quick google it may be a swollen uvula, but obv this needs a doc to say yes or no.

I wouldn't worry about it too much (although of course you need to have it looked at asap) cos I've found in my long life that painful things can happen in the mouth all of a sudden for no known reason and they can cure themselves as fast as they appeared. Something like Rinstead pastilles or Strepsils might relieve soreness meantime

When in doubt, always see a doctor - we can't offer any kind of medical advice on here for obvious reasons. I wish you all the best - sounds horrid. Fox

Doctors have to see you if you phone and say you need to see a Dr. today. It's a bit late now though. Receptionists can be snooty and most think they're God, but you need to be firm and don't take no for an answer. I've threatened to write to the practice manager before when they've been uncooperative and that works a treat.

Can't remember the wording but there is something in the patients charter that states they must give you an appointment the same day you ring, may not be you're own GP but it will be one of them.
Hope you're ok Stitch.
