NHS direct is a waste of time too. They ask a load of stupid questions then tell you to make an appointment with your Dr.! Unbelievable.

I'm not sure if it's different in Scotland but 3 times over the past couple of years I've phoned NHS24 out of hours and each time they have phoned me back and told me to go to my community hospital where I've seen a locum straight away. Each time the locum has been much better than my usual GP!

Some people have their uvula's pierced and have gold rings in them

Try gargling with dispersible Aspirin in warm water, should ease it until you can get to the Dr's.
If you have not got a temperature or are not feeling unwell, it could be just a reaction to the juice.
Take care and don't worry too much.
