i'll tell you what annoys the hell outta me is when you watch the first season of a show and then (usually Fox) decides to cut it... some shows take longer than a season to get going

Would you recommend sleeper cell gordy.
Maccafan, ive watched the entire first season of homeland, I really liked it, very well made with a few twists. and I think its that good, that it will be hard to imagine it being canceled.
But, firefly was canceled in america, and that has one of the highest ratings for tv shows of all time. So who knows. I think a lot depends on what day it is shown and at what time. For example, if friends was still on the go, and a new programme comes out and they put it on tv at the same time, but on a different channel, it won't get the viewers, and then it will be canceled. Even if it is fantastic.

I'll add one more that I don't think I saw listed Life on Mars ( Philip Glenister) aka Gene Hunt the only others I can agree with are Shameless and Python although I rarely watch the 50" plasma I bought for 'ER indoors And Ashes to Ashes fab series and the music......not to mention the cars lol

Ooooo yes Esme . . . there's some of yours there that I've followed and forgotten about! Silent Witness was another cracking series for me, one of the few homegrown Murder/Mystery's that really worked.

i'll tell you what annoys the hell outta me is when you watch the first season of a show and then (usually Fox) decides to cut it... They tried that with family guy, it didn't work out too well for them . The family guy creators basically have fox bent over a barrel now and can get away with almost anything (and often do), fox could of course cancel them again but after last time I don't think they would bother.

... one of the highest ratings for tv shows of all time. If anything has a huge following it usually means I won't like it Homeland: I've watched the first 3(?) episodes and will give it one more chance, but the heroine is so intellectually challenged and neurotic (and too young to have been in the job for 10 years ) it spoils it for me. I hate it when characters make silly mistakes for the sake of the plot, it's only soap-worthy Mind you, thinking about the performance of governments and intelligence agencies over the past 10 years or so, maybe it's true to life

We wouldn't be arguing over possession of the remote control, if we lived together Esme, that's for certain! Your viewing tastes are sooooooo similar to mine, I could even cope with Diagnosis Murder.
