I vape in the car with windows open etc. Mainly just as I dint want car clouding up. Vape in living room when they are in bed. But during the day I tend to go and vape were ever the kids aren't.
You have all read way more research etc than me. So what's the general opinion concensus ?

It's safe. Vaping is very different to smoking. There are none of the solids produced in tobacco smoke that hang around the room and cause the harm from secondary smoke. Most of what you produce from vaping is water, with a few other chemicals in very low levels. Lets face it they will breath in more toxic chemicals and compounds walking to school, produced from the traffic on the road. Far better to let your kids see you vaping than smoking, and a way better role model for them to follow. My child has grown up now, but I wouldn't think twice about vaping in the same room.

My children are, well, not children anymore they are both eighteen now. But if I had small children I would openly vape around them. As has already been stated , they are more at risk from inhaling fumes in the open air than exhaled vapour. If I was around other folks children in an enclosed space then I would probably avoid vaping out of courtesy and the fact that the parents may well have been taken in by all the B.S. journalism and believe its the next plague to hit society. Again it all comes down to how you feel about it personally, its another one of these things with vaping that is subjective, IMO, there is no definitive right or wrong.

So health wise there are no concerns? When I was using analogues I used to go outdoors always because of 2nd hand smoke/passive smoking. Clearly not the same chemicals in vaping. However was curious about by products of vg and PG breakdown or the flavour breakdown. But seems like it's almost all water vapour? I guess there's no issue then.

Vaping has no slipstream peter12 which is what causes the harm in passive smoking. So it is very safe to bystanders

Vaping is very different to smoking but I don't think it's safer than not vaping. Sure there's plenty of BS around but we don't know for sure there are no health issues with vaping. Why subject them to your vape when you wouldn't subject it other people's kids. I find courtesy to all is a good general policy

I choose not to Vape around my kids (7&13) but only because I was a secret smoker around them when I smoked stinkies Would seem odd to Vape with them around so I just sneak off around the house and Vape out of windows :-)
If however I had smoked stinkies in front of them then I would have no issues about vaping in front of them now.

Mine are 8 and 12 and I don't vape around them the same as I didn't smoke around them, this however is because I like to go outside for a bit for a chill, the same as when I smoked and also because I vape black jack and it tends to be quite strong and not to every bodies liking. My missus also has an allergy of sorts to nicotine so it's best not tempt fate. I did have them in the car for four hours and had no issue vaping with the windows down

I wouldn't want to say whether you should or shouldn't peter12 . . . . as a parent I think that has to be their decision. Not so much from the health aspect, personally I believe any vapour to be safe. My uncertainty would be more if they wanted to copy Daddy, being honest as much as I love our habit/hobby - I'd never have smoked, so wouldn't have had the need to find a safer/healthier alternative. Are your children of an age where you could explain, talk this through and they would understand?

After safety this was my other personal concern about the fact the may try to copy or replicate in some way thinking it looks cool. Too young to explain to them really But that's a different concern.

What greg said. I wouldn't. Also it might normalize it to them and they're more likely to do it or somke when they're older.

imho the only risk is in promoting the concept of blowing clouds of vapour (faux smoke) out of ones lungs..

Anti smoking is now a major player in the curriculum, there are massively less smokers each year and along with vaping its no doubt hurting Big Tobacco / Pharma. Both my girls grew up around both parents smoking albeit outside mostly they both knew we did it and loved to remind us its a filthy habit, neither of them smoke still (flew the nest) and im eternally thankful for it, they stopped pecking me when I moved to vaping and recently reminded me to stay vaping if I must but no fags!! I'm in the monkey see monkey do park along with Mandy so i try to keep it a personal pleasure, I never advertise nor take an evangelistic approach unless people ask. '

My 3 year old grand daughter flaps her arms wildly and tells me to stop smoking. Rather than bore her with the technical differences I just do as Im told, so thatll be 4th generation hen pecking. Joking aside an odd toot aint going to hurt any one but a full on cloud session should be strictly for the adults.
