I'm totally against animal cruelty. Animals are at our mercy and it's so sad, nothing to do with being soft, it's being human. Using them as a means of 'entertainment' is wicked IMHO.

Or it could have been a helpless human infant tied to a young colt and sent off to run wild for the 'amusement' of people. What a giggle that would have been!  If you have no affection or respect for animals, then that's your choice. It diminishes your integrity to deride those of us who do care... Sorry if this post comes across as a bit heavy but the lack of respect or concern for the exploitation of the vulnerable in this world REALLY winds me up. Nothing wrong with a bacon sandwich, as long as the pig has been lovingly and organically reared and has died of old age, surrounded by friends and family. |

I am lacto-vegetarian..I don't even eat eggs or anything that contains eggs. I try not to use leather products except where required by law. I wear rubber sandals. I care deeply and act accordingly
And yeah..abbatoirs don't exist and all the animals eaten, died of old age..OK.

The problems for me were twofold
1) It looks like a baboon to me, not a monkey, but more importantly
2) Where is the mother (the reason it chases the piglet is that it needs something to cling to for comfort).
Now I can't say for sure how the poor thing came to be in that situation, but..
Not against eating animals but definitely against baby wild animals being taken for pets. Adult baboons make very uncute pets. It looks like a tragedy in the making.
