Hi All,
So, on thursday just gone, myself and a few friends were all set to go to not so sunny Glasgow to watch Premier league Darts at the SECC. It was basically a lads night away to get drunk and watch darts, as lads do now and again.
We met up around 10am for breakfast and started drinking around 11am.
My plan was to Vape in stealth mode.
We drank in a few pubs before we set off to Glasgow aswell as the train ride up.
Initially my stealth mode was working perfectly.
However, as the drinks went by, I began to vape, pretty much without a care in the world.
I got some strange looks here and there, but was never challanged about it.
However, at the SECC while watching the darts, and many many more pints of beer later and quite drunk,
I was eventually challenged.
One of the stewards came over to me and told me I was not allowed to smoke.
I quickly responded by saying that I wasn't smoking, and showed her my Riva.
To my surprise, she then said ok, and then left. I was not challenged again.
After the darts had finished, we hit pub after pub and I openly vaped, not advertising it, but not hiding it either.
We did this until 3:30 in the morning and I was never challenged again.
Mind you, I was totally goosed, but 16 hours or so of constant drinking will do that to you (and yes I was really rough on friday morning).
But, on the whole, chuffed that no-one was really bothered by me vaping.
However, I didn't realise until one of my friends told me the next day, that my riva was either in my hand or mouth the entire night.
But, I did not smoke at all the whole night.
The one thing that did bother me that night was one of my non smoking friends.
He couldn't understand why I was still vaping if I had stopped smoking.
I explained that it had only been 6 weeks since I had stopped smoking, and surely it was better that I was vaping compared to smoking.
He then asked me when I was going to stop vaping.
I replied that I hadn't really thought about it,
that I was just glad to be off the nasties.
And that maybe in 6 months or a year I would maybe make the decision to stop vaping.
But truthfully, I am enjoying vaping.
And it's not really any more harmful than a cup of coffee, so why should I.
He looked at me with what I took to be disappointment and basically, he gave me the impression that he still see's this as smoking.
This friend, is a good friend of mine, but has never smoked a day in his life.
I think some people who have never smoked before, don't fully understand how hard it is to stop smoking.
And they clearly don't understand what vaping is all about, and still see vaping as smoking.
I wish they people were better informed about vaping.
