Hello, I moved to ecigs three years ago, after smoking 30/40 Golden Virginia rollups a day for 40 years. So i am converted!! I am however, having a bit of trouble with my latest kit. I used to use fairly cheap Exhale Kyngo kits. The batterries are small (650), but seem to last as long as 1200's and tend to be more longlasting ie times they can be charged. I have recently bought a Vapouriz V Box mod and an Aspire Atlantis and also a Vapouriz SUB OHM atomiser(which looks very similar to the Atlantis). I use Vapouriz Tobbacco eliquid (1.8%), which is PG based. I have tried numerous other eliquids, but the vapouriz is the only one that doesnt give me a very dry mouth/tongue. Using the VBox & Atlantis (and the Vapouritz atomiser), i just dont seem to be able to get enough vapour out of them. I asked vaporiz, why this may be happening and they said i should use special eliquid for sub ohming and/or attach the "beauty ring", which makes the kit look like a monstrosity. Vaporiz have just introduced their special sub ohm eliquid, and i wonder what they thought people should use prior to their new range?? The instructions with the Vbox are abismal and i havent got a clue about changing the wattage. It goes up to 50w and has to be set to at least 30w to get anything approaching half decent out of it. Wonder if members can tell me where im going wrong. Thanks,

PG produces less visible vapour than VG it also dissipates faster. Sub ohm coils are of lower resistance and use a thicker gauge wire to make a coil of a similar number of wraps as a regular coil. The lower resistance thicker wire requires more power to heat.

No familiar withy our kit but beauty rings in general are for aesthetics only and using it won't improve the vape. You don't need special eliquid for sub ohm vaping, although many tend to use high VG liquid it's not necessary. Higher VG will produce more vapour.
As droog says if the atty uses thick wire it will take longer to heatt he coil so it may be your vaping it before it's uo to temp.
Maybe you've just taking too big a leap in equipment in one go and not adjusted your vaping style to suit.
Do you find the Atlantis better than the sub ohm atty ?

Thanks for the responses. Im getting a bit confused. it has been said that I may be vaping too early, before the coil has warmed up. Does that mean that I should press the button and wait a second or so before drawing on the vape?? The Vapouriz is just the same as the Atlantis (disappointing), but the Atlantis does crackle a lot. Thanks,

Hi and Welcome,
The Atlantis may want you to inhale more quickly and sharply. Contrast the vaping styles in the videos. Are you a direct lung inhaler (the woman) or a mouth to lung hitter (Andrew).
Have fun I

Welcome to AAEC buddy! Like said before VG based liquids are producing more vapour and are less likely to give you a dry throat/mouth. Other than that lots of info already posted above

Hi and welcome decodance Have not used the atlantis myself, but would echo what people said about trying a VG heavier juice and taking a look at how you vape, but maybe this tank is just not for you. To be honest the Vaporiz advice about putting a "beauty ring" on just sounds careless - it's called a "beauty ring" because its purpose is only to make the thing look better!

I've had a look at the Vapouriz VBox and the Subtank and they are designed for sub-ohming - the coils fitted are 0.5ohms which should be vaped at between 20-30 watts. However using high PG eliquid at 18mg you will not be able to get the same sort of vape you're used to. You could really do with a tank which will allow you to swap out the coil for a 1.6 - 1.8ohm coil which will then mean that you can lower the wattage to about 7-12 watts. High PG will not give you clouds. The benefit of being able to use high VG is that when sub-ohming you can lower your nicotine level (I typically vape at 3mg) and can vape for longer without dry mouth or light-headedness - which will occur if you try vaping 18mg in a sub-ohm setup.

This. If you're using 18mg high PG in an Atlantis that's not going to give a very good vape at all and it's no wonder you've got a dry throat. I'd start by trying some different liquid. What other brands have you tried? Edit: Hmm, don't know where the quote went
