As another DIYer I don't worry about how much I vape - whilst at work I take a 15 ml bottle and a full tank with me in the morning, and get through about 5-6 ml during the day, and then fill up in the evening so it's probably around 10 ml a day at present - I'll always vape more when at home, over the weekend for example, but I always make sure I've got a back up, spare batteries or extra mod, just in case.
I use a 0.4 ohm coil and 3 mg juice and my coils last about a month at 29 watts. I like fruit/candy flavors so there usually ready to go after mixing, and even adding in the couple of mods that I just had to have this year, it's costing me less than one pack of stinkies a week, whereas I used to get through a pack a day, and if that was the reason I'd switched to vaping I think it would be hard to argue with.

I use 2 Triton MK1 tanks with 0.4 ohm coils and have done since they came out - they fit me perfectly - I pair them with either my Cuboid 150W, my Archon, my Cloupor GT, or my Tesla Two or Tesla Three - I've given away all the other powered mods that I had to my vapefam, and although I still enter comps online for other vape related gear, it usually gets passed on to other members of my vapefam - which gives me the same buzz I used to get from shinyitis believe it or not!
I also DIY so never run out of juice and when one flavor becomes passe, I move on. Still surprised at how many times people complain about the price of juice, or that their retailer doesn't have their favourite juice in stock, and so they'll have to try something different just to get through: why make it so hard for yourselves? After a bit of practice and an accurate set of scales, I can mix up a 100ml batch which will last just over a week, in about 5 minutes.

Just to add my twopenneth worth - you should try entering as many giveaways for e-liquid on social media as you can - quite a few regularly post, usually when they have a new flavour that they want to promote - and it might just be the flavour you're looking for - as to your chances? The same as anyone else - but it's another way to try something that you've heard about, without having to purchase it - if you don't find it suitable, you can always pass it on - In the past couple of weeks I've given away three mods, four tanks and about 100ml of juice to my vapefam - all prizes that I've won, and thought they'd be more useful to others - just to clarify, I won them over a 6 month period, and each "prize" had something that I hung onto.

I know it's still early days on your vaping journey, but in regards the vapour's tongue concern, I have a few bottles of 0mg eliquid with cherry, menthol, mint, and some Hangsen Golden Tree concentrate, that I give to my vapefam if they tell me they're suffering - depending on their preferences - that way it usually only requires two or three drops added to a 10ml bottle to make the difference. As a DIYer, I always have my favourite flavours available to adjust a batch if I think it's getting a bit "samey". I've never bought from a shop, only online, and it's never been an issue; just keep experimenting, without lowering your nic level, and you'll get there!

Welcome to the forum! Having a spare or backup is a very good idea - I didn't start vaping until I'd made sure I had a backup, and a backup for my backup too! Just relax and try to get used to it - don't beat yourself up about how often you use it, and keep hydrated. It will soon become second nature to you. Then you can start thinking about how to personalise it to suit your tastes - I realised pretty much straight away that I didn't miss tobacco flavour and jumped in and tried fruity, minty and bubblegum flavours, which now nearly 3 years later, are still my gotos. Others are happy with tobacco flavour and stick with it throughout. Each to their own, and we all find our own preferences. Enjoy!

I make a batch of my ADV - which depends on my mood - usually about 400ml - then I mix up a small batch of a custardy loveliness and sometimes another - it maybe menthol or as of last nite, it's Kentucky bourbon flavored. I vape my all day and then if I get bored will reach for one of the other two, then go back to my all day. I've tried many different manufacturers eliquids, and can honestly say that I couldn't tell a premium from a hole in the ground, but I could tell a cheapy - no depth of flavor, and usually a nasty aftertaste - so I only mix my own - but occasionally I've been known to enter a few giveaways and had a chance to try other's juice ranges - and am yet to be impressed, I'm glad to say, as my way is so much more affordable. I've met juice snobs who won't vape it unless it's a US import, and I think - each to their own - which in my case is my own!

Hi #manonabus, I hope you're vape journey will get easier with time. My wife always vaped tobacco flavored e-juice - Hangsen's Golden Tree, and never felt the need to change over to anything more exotic, despite me telling her of the joys of all the fruity concoctions I had created. I myself was a smoker for 40+ years, and unfortunately did not discover vaping until I'd already succumbed to COPD, which now restricts my life in more ways than I ever imagined. I don't find vaping has any noticeable effects thankfully, and it allows me to cope with daily life, plus there's this great community which offers loads of support whenever it's needed. I wishh you well!

Well toots it sounds like we share a similar flavor profile - I use blackberry or apple and "additions" in most of my current recipes. In the past few months I've used TFA Blackberry in conjunction with watermelon, lemon/lime, lemonade and lemon sherbert, with the addition of ethyl maltol, and it really "hits the spot"! I really need to start posting some of my recipes!

Hi keebie and welcome to AAEC! As you can see there are all sorts of folks here - all ages, all backgrounds, and all linked by vaping. Any vape related questions just ask - there are no wrong questions!

Next time you see her you could "point" her in the direction of DIY as that will give her more pennies for pampering, and she may even find it fun?

Fleabay has umpteen listings for digital scales as used by Scott Bonner for under a fiver - neat enough to store with your vapegear, and not taking up half the kitchen, or likely to be "used" by other family members!

I watched Scott Bonner's (igetcha69) YT vid on DIYing last nite, and was instantly converted to the idea of mixing using scales - it looks so much easier than filling syringes, pipettes, glass cylinders, which is how I've been doing it for the past 20 months or so. Small digital scales cost less than a £5 note in UK and as long as accurate to 2 decimal points (0.00) then they'll do the job. Scales should have a tare button - to zero the scales - then add 1st ingredient, say PG at 20 grams - then hit tare button and add the next ingredient, and so on until you've added all your flavors, base and nic and your're good to go. No mess, nothing to get washed out - I'm already working out what to put in my next batch, and I'm going to make my three ADV's up in 100ml batches, because I can (usually just make one batch at a time and then alternate which flavor combo to put in)

My wife was concerned that she wouldn't be able to get a flavor like her roll-ups, which I always disliked, however as that's what she smoked, we started with a local B+M which gave her their version, which she enjoyed, altho at £5 per 10ml, didn't seem to make any sense; I DIY and have done since I started vaping, so I started by trying her on Hangsen's Golden Tree, which is supposed to be like Amber Leaf tobacco, her fave. That hit the spot; next I bought the concentrate, and I now make her 50ml batches up which cost me about the same as that first 10ml from the local store - the trick I think is finding a flavor that is close to her cigarette flavor - not everyone wants fruit/candy/dessert etc - they need it to taste like a fag! My wife has never wanted to try anything I've vaped, and doesn't "get it" when I come rushing thru with my latest creation, that tastes as far away from a fag as I can imagine!

I have used the Rebranded Rhubarb at 2-3% as an added note to some of my fruity vapes, but never tempted to make it a big player in any flavor mix; did think about trying a Rhubarb & Custard, but the custard was so overpowering I never got it just so. At these small percentages was quite happy with the flavor profile and not aware of any perfumey plastic taste.

In addition to Kreeds links, I also buy from Everythingliquid and Les Pickin's Juice Cabin - Everthing is for bulk purchases of base products, Les is good if you're new to mixing and not sure how involved you want to get - he has kits from premixed to base liquids, and you can specify your own preferences in regards strength of PG/VG/Nic to suit your tastes - prices are keen too!
