It takes me to the fair when I hear people criticising those who don't give their hard earned cash to local B&M shops but buy direct from the large "stack 'em high and sell 'em cheap" warehouses .... Do these people think like that when they are shopping at Tescos rather than the local village shop? @yinyang
"It takes me to the fair"? Wonderful. I have never heard that turn of phrase before, I shall make a note of it.
As for your point, if those B&Ms are simply buying in bulk from China, slapping on a monster mark-up and providing little else by way of advice, service or promoting eCigs and the obvious health benefits then what is wrong with voting with your PayPal account? I have to say I have seen far too many B&M shops who have next to no stock but massively niche kit that they are too willing to push on the unsuspecting man-on-the-Clapham-omnibus who just wants to start out.
Fair enough if you are lucky enough to have a scrupulous dealer in your locale, shout it from the rooftops.
Ooooh (Edit)
My local shop is a Tesco, how do I avoid the stigma?

I think you have mis-read my post GeoffUK ... I am in favour of buying from China and would never dream of even entering a B&M shop knowing that they buy from the same Chinese warehouses and then add a 200 - 300% mark up. ETA: "it takes me to the fair" means it makes me laugh scornfully ... Perhaps it is just a local N.Ireland saying.

just saying ....no offense ... what is the point of having 100 modes or clone modes ???---colection ?? --- just to be there to be prepared for armageddon ?? With the money spent for 3 clones or 4 (and maybe only 1 is working good) we can buy a genuine one for example aqua fx . Of course is normal for a 4 years vaper to have at least 4 modes or more , but for a beginner who just start to vape few months ago and 0 knowledge about battery safety ,wicking materials , ohm law , difference between genny ,clearo , carto etc A BIG NO . I also start with an expensive ego kit (50 euro) and i consider i loose my money ,.. after that i loose more money buying defective chinese clones , but this was happened to me few years ago when my experience was 0 and not visiting any vape forum to learn. At this time we have more advanced stuff than before and better quality, one more reason to buy only a few kits for using at home , out for a beer or at work . For all new vapers i have only one message : If you are happy with your mod don't spend your money investing in cheap and defective clones. For armageddon i recommend a mech mode and a dripper , an almost indestructible mod which can serve you many years. Except the fact chinese vendors are mostly liars ( only my opinion ) the real problem of vaping cheap is the liquid. Everything is on the market have extremely huge price ( only few exceptions ). An advice for new vapers : instead of buying to many modes and spending to much money on ready e-liquid spend some time learning about rebuildable atty's and how to made your own juice.... It`s personal choice @chris2005, it`s what keeps a lot of us interested and vaping in a way that was not available when smoking. It`s a hobby now.

"With the money spent for 3 clones or 4 (and maybe only 1 is working good)" ..................... that is not the case "Except the fact chinese vendors are mostly liars ( only my opinion )" ............................... that is borderline offensive whether just your opinion or not.

There have been quite a few posts concerning Chinese clones. I would point out that you don't have to buy clones to get a great deal from China. I personally wouldn't buy a clone subtank mini for example for £10, when I can get a genuine subtank mini for £17 from China which is still about £10 cheaper than in the UK. If you do buy clones, then you have to accept that you may have to put up with an inferior product as the cost of getting a rock bottom price.

Whatever @chris2005, not arguing with you but you are wrong. If you want to be offensive, this forum is not the place and never has been.

I have a choice buy or not buy from China
I choose to buy from China and save my money.
If something goes wrong (all good so far) then I will deal with it and contact the vendor if I did not get the answer I was looking for I would stop buying from them.
Thats how I look at it.

You`ve gone now Chris by the look of it, I`m sorry about that. Slagging vendors off unnecessarily get`s us absolutely nowhere, it`s not about "sides".

Postman has just rattled the door with 2 parcels from China
FastTech ORDER placed on the 6/11 13 days to deliver
GearBest ORDER placed on the 9/11 10 days to deliver
With the few items I bought I have saved myself £17.00
So thank you China off to see what I can buy next.

Thats it! I'm leaving! no not really your stuck with me, seriously though, isn't a forum all about discussion? why quit just because someone says something you don't agree with? one of the downsides of any forum is that something written can and does come across as offensive or a personal attack, as a member of many forums I've seen things written that if said face to face would just be ignored, yet on the forum have started a mini war, I buy all my stuff from China and I know the upsides and down sides, I never buy clones even though a lot of them come off the same production lines and same factory that are making them for the big boys, they arn't a copy or clone they are original they just can't be sold as that, there are UK vendors selling stuff as original that are clones, it's a case of make a choice and pay your money, mostly it seems to me that Gearbest are ok! even if a lot of it is down to Isabele sorting it out, I've had a few problems with FT but I still use them because 95% of the stuff I bought has been great, If I see something I fancy I look at the threads here, if more say it's good I'll go for it, it's about choices and learning, if you don't fancy buying from China, the answer is simple, "Don't", every bit of kit apart from my first starter kit has been on the advice I got here, so no more chucking the Teddy out, just agree to disagree, I'll bet there's not a Vendor out there that someone hasn't had a problem with, so feel free to insult or ridicule me if you want, I have broad shoulders and know that something typed on a forum dosn't always read like it sounds, if it wasn't for the advice good of bad I've gained from here I would have been back on the stinkies long ago,,

The legal situation is if you dont have a patent you will never have a case. A device that has a coil in a chamber vaporising liquid via battery power is a very simple device. You can wrap it up differently and charge as much as you like but it will never be worthy of a patent except in exceptional circumstances. The man widely regarded as the inventor of modern ecigs was Hon Lik in China in approx 2004. You could argue that everything that came after is a clone of his invention and he should be payed accordingly. The majority of innovation since he invented it has come from China and that continues today. If you create a new deck or atomiser you are stealing Hon Lik`s idea and you will know before you do that that it will be cloned and you dont have a hypocritical leg to stand on.As far as buying from China, it has risks, it has delays and it always will. If that is going to be a problem for you personally then dont buy from China. It`s not just ecigs, it`s right across the board depending on how clued up and perceptive the company that you buy from is. All of the B and Ms in the UK know that and put up with it because they know, at the end of the day, they will make a healthy profit. robby I'm not sure that argument stands, so what about the first car made, the first aeroplane etc etc just because it hasn't got a patent doesn't mean its ok to just copy some one elses work, its like promoting counterfeiting and its ok, look at Fleabay its flooded with snide this and snide that, camera batteries, car parts you name it its faked. I wish this country could get back to being Great again and have a backbone, but I'm afraid its like the bloody Titanic at the moment I can see this could go on for ages and I hope it doesn't get out of hand, I'm keeping me mouth shut before I get too involved, I mean no offence robby or anyone on here, just different opinions, each to their own.................
