Quick question. Used the pro tank part clapton technique. Worked really. Did it again today made about 2 foot of clapton. But the outer 32 gauge sprung off afterwards about 6 inches and kept doing so. Most of the length is now useless. Grrr
Any one know why? Does this occur if you wrap too fast ? Or is there another reason?

Or is there another reason? Never had this happen and never heard of it happening either, I don't think you can wrap too fast, I go as fast as my drill will go once I've done about 2 inches.. Mind you I'm used to making them now and just make them by feel, could do it with my eyes closed.. Maybe not wrapped to the core tight enough?

That occurred to me also. Maybe I wasn't holding the outer wire right enough to the core whilst wrapping.

I made some. Got it right second try (luck?...probably), but the ramp up and cool down time is ridiculous in a tank. Not tried in a dripper, but I imagine it is ideal for that purpose. Not with Ni200 on a DNA, especially a DNA 200 you can throw 200 W at it until near temp, can't solve the cool down problem you need a can of liquid nitrogen for that. Always been one of the best features of DNAs that most people seem to unaware of. Got my DNA 200 from Ade ( @windows ) so I will be reassessing the clapton coils asap
