I 'll have to defer to Gordy who has a lot more experience.. However, my 2.1 ohm single coil echomisers vape far better than my dual coil 2.2 ohm echos for the same juice and it's not a one off. The SC's produces more vapour, warmth and flavour over the DC at 4.2 volts. I cut a SC and a DC open and I think I understand why but don't want to go into it any details and confuse anyone. I would just experiment jlowdo and find your right setup. In a similar way I love Boge 3.0 ohm cartos, they just work for me. Never been a fan of DC's, tried them, meh.

I don't have a RIVA Gordy..I have a decent Ego VV Battery Passthrough and little box mod I made myself which I am still refining..I have tested it under 2 amp load and it dips to about 4.1 volts and not much more than that..
The dual coils are made of much thinner wire and have less turns. 3 1/2 turns each of 0.13 mm on the DC to 5 turns 0.17 mm on the SC as measured with a micrometer. And the current gets split between the DC's making them less hotter than as you rightly said..
So marginal increase in surface area with lower temp coils if that makes sense.

ok. seems to work ok now... now need to decide whether to use single or double coil ( don't worry i won't ask advice on that one...... ). Thanks to everyone, especially Roger. change of battery and blow through seems to have solved the issue although for some reason, and maybe its just getting used to it, i seem to prefer using the regular cartomisers - seem to tape better but maybe its trial and error for me. next task to try to work out how to use the smokeymizers, especially without looking like a nob.... or just bin them

So, without wanting to start another hoo haa between maccafan and Gordy, you are suggesting that i should be able to use the dual coil 1.5ohm tanks at high voltage for more power in the lava tube effecteviley, and that the LCD will be reading out the correct output? Similarly, with my remaining empty Tanks i can try Smoke Tech DCT single coils 2.8ohm arriving hopefully today as a direct replacement and see how results differ. I understand from fuzzy i'll need to drill a hole into the side of these to use with the tank? and base my decision on testing the two methods... So, Gordy, in your opinion me being sold the 3,5m lDCT Dual coil 1.5ohm tank for the LT was a reasonable choice and worthy of persevering with while also experimenting with a 2.8 ohm single coil version as suggested by maccafan?? Incidentally will be starting another thread to help my understanding of the whole voltage/ohm power thing shortly, sorry! and another about a potential health issue i think may we down to vaping thanks all we dont have 'hoo haa's' its called discussion and sharing of views which enables us to give you the best of our shared knowledge the lavatube has a limit feature built in that limits the output at 2.5amps... using the formula volts / ohms = amps you can work out the max voltage the lavatube will output given the resistance of the carto/atty this is what the list Anne posted shows the DCT tank is a good option for any e-cig. you simply have to find the carto that works best for you ....if you go for a single coil you will have to make sure that it is 50mm in length ...the new XXL boges will work but dont get them confused with the XL version

I hope you're not stressed out at vaping When in doubt just go back to using standard boge cartos on their own, they work and they're simple

you know Karma, i think you might be right. i've bought all this gear and yet to find something that plugs in that tastes as good as a standard resistance boge. tanks causing me no end of problems..... if only you could buy a latex cooling jacket or something for a boge i'd be happy to stick with that. my single coil DCT tank is no fun, and my double coil with cured flue is still not giving me much joy at 4.4 on the LT..... perseverance i guess....
