Good evening lords and ladies,
I'm having problems with a new Smok X Cube II, my second one in fact. The side button appears to stick at the top whenever pressed and is rather stiff. I've tried turning off the device and removing the batteries, then cleaning the exposed led area of the button. I've even tried just pressing the button hundreds of times in hopes of unsticking it. Alas it's still stiff and sticking. What would the best course of action be short of returning it.
Cheers!

Think it's a common problem. Slightly loosening the Allen screws seems to fix it in the majority of cases

Had to do exactly the same on mine. Slight turn and it's sorted.

Yep, I had the same thing and was very happy to find this was all it took when I started to take it apart (having no idea what I was going to do next!)

I'm glad I read this, as like Skwoddy I have a black XCube 2 on its way from Gearbest too! I'll bookmark this thread and keep a watchful eye out in case I have stickiness issues when mine arrives (and I do mean the firing bar, before anyone else spots the possible double entendre!).

What seems to be happening is that when you tighten up the two screws at the fire bar end, it bends the top plate (chromed brass) slightly at the points shown by the arrows. The screws screw into the two brass inserts towards the bottom of the pic. The threaded inserts are fixed in a clear plastic chassis part. Unfortunately, they dont seem to have been made totally accurately. The top of the brass inserts are actually a mm too low, hence the bending action which causes the fire bar to rub against the bottom edge of the top plate of the mod. If you undo the screw slightly there is still some spring left in the chromed brass top of the mod which allows the fire bar to miss the top plate and possibly into the mod.
A fix would be a couple of small thin washers on top of the brass threaded inserts, or just unscrew the two screws slightly. If you are going to take the top off be sure to turn the mod upside down before you separate the top from the rest of the mod or the two buttons will fall out of their holes.
I can confirm that there is a rubber seal around three edges of the display which you can just about see in the pic. Ignore the strange colouring of the top plate, it`s reflection.

It appears to be the same with all of them (bending the top) but doesn`t always stick. About time they bloody sorted it
