It's completely unresponsive - won't turn on, won't charge up, won't do owt.
Any arcane knack to repair it I can do before I chuck it out?

Mine went the same way. It currently inhabits The Drawer of Useless Objects, along with a Cloupor Mini that drains its battery in less than an hour even when it's turned off, two iSticks with buggered threads, four mech mods with various bits missing, half a dozen exhausted egos, a tub of dry Wet Wipes, and a packet of expired condoms.

Oh well, I guess from your replies it's another one for the knacker's yard.

What a substandard mod the Smowell has proved to be...

I bought 2 from Gearbest months ago, my silver one packed in after a couple of months of using it and although it still works, the screen packed in (common fault) so I don't know what the settings are anymore, but luckily managed to get a full refund (Gearbest only able to give store credit for full refund.) My other blue one still works fine (for now) but I don't tend to use it often anymore. The DPV-50 are nice and light and are comfortable to hold but because of what happened to mine (and some of the various stories i've read online) I won't be buying anything Smowell again.

I have two dead ones. They try to work, but only in *mech mode*, and can't manage to produce as much vapour as comes off my p***! Totally pants electronics in them.

Gearbest have said they will give me store credit but no sign yet... I wonT be buying any Smowell products again. Shame, they look good... spigot. How long did you have yours before it went pear shaped?

spigot. How long did you have yours before it went pear shaped? A few months, but I didn't use it much. Apart from its ridiculously badly designed battery cover, it had charging issues. I don't think I'll be buying another Smowell in a hurry.

Mine lasted about three months then developed charging problems. Rather than fart about with it, I stripped it, removed the usb charging port from the board and installed the chip in a Hammond box along with an evolve usb charging board, powered by an MVP3 battery. So far it has worked well with no further issues.
