I found that if I waited a bit longer the smileys would eventually arrive, but I have to be honest the slow loading was driving me nuts, and I have now resorted to installing the unmentionable and that has fixed it. If you want to know what I am talking about then feel free to pm me. I re installed the unmentionable myself and it does seem a lot better today What is it? is it a add blocker? help a thick old pillock out here please, so many threads with the the unmentionable

Ok that's good - in that case I will go back to being a good girl and viewing the forum without the unmentionable !

Relieved to hear that the forum is back to normal for everyone I'm still puzzled though as to why it effected some & not others. It was fine all the time for me & I don't use an ad blocker.

Strange Chrissie. My android phone has a built in add blocker and was full speed as normal but my android tablet and my pc did not have an add blocker and they were both very slow. And oh how it effected us all...... It was like being back on a dial up connection but thankfully without that horrible screeching.

It really is strange Greigster I do have a POP Up blocker, but not an ad blocker. From looking at some of the posts on PB support, some UK admins reported that just a couple of their members were having problems but they & the rest of the forum weren't having any issues. One of those admins is a very regular poster on PB support & I know there is no way she would break Proboards TOS by using an ad blocker.

I'm on BT, Others have said there is a built in safe search on Virgin and the DDOS attack triggered it. Have no idea myself,

Me too Chrissie . . . . it also affected Photobucket for me, so they must use the same advertising partner as Proboards. Anyhow, it's a massive relief and pleasure to be able to view the forum in all its glory this morning, without issues.
